NHS opened up by Tories, the Vultures will be circling.
On a day when record numbers of people succumb to Covid the heartless Tory party show their TRUE colours. They will be briefing their share dealers as to which of their cronies to invest in.
Tories vote down protections for NHS in trade deals on deadliest day in pandemic (thelondoneconomic.com)
Including the useless lump that is MP for Southport.

It won’t be the NHS in total, but the provision of goods and services, Tories can’t help themselves in their rabid desire to privatise or hand contracts to private business, come what may.
It is more than worth noting that it is undoubtedly the NHS which has over performed during this pandemic, let down too often by suppliers and government.

I think we would need some more detail of the amendment.

An amendment from the Lords was to ensure that the any part of the NHS in any way would be opened up as part of a trade deal, Tories blocked that amendment, according to them as they have already stated that the NHS isn't for sale and that is good enough, the fact that they blocked the amendment means to me that it is needed more than ever.

It would be a dereliction of duty if the government was offered something good by the US and didn't let us have the benefit of it.
The NHS does spend a lot of money with countries such as China and India two upstanding high-quality countries with outstanding records

Something good? the only thing the US medical corporations want is access, sure if anyone has something good to offer, but if it comes with strings, forget it.

Does anyone recall the Education system before the Government interfered with it. When teachers were true teachers, relied on to use their expertise in subject knowledge and teaching ability. When teachers took a pride in their work, were highly respected and all in all did a great job of turning out some of the highest educated people. The government, having very little expertise in education - put some jobs worth in a created position and education standards have now become greatly diminished.
Remember when Hospitals were run by medical staff? Then the non medical Government intervened, putting non medical job worth's in created positions with a massive non medical administration staff? Then parts of it became privatised and leading public employees suddenly had financial interests in it.
The USA has only one focus. Money! Previously it was weapons, then oil and now pharmaceuticals. Almost every American citizen is persuaded to use and purchase various prescription drugs - whether they need it or not. I is a multi billion industry in the States.
So which organisation purchases massive amounts of pharmaceuticals on a regular basis? Which system needs huge investment ? Where do you think the USA's interest lies now?
Obviously, over this pandemic, there are many with a vested interest - it is a huge attraction involving £Trillions. I do not believe for one moment that a Carnegie type benefactor is going to step in, so that means it is intended for the NHS to be sectioned off and sold. If that happens, there will be a different level of service offered according to the status of the patient-this is not what the NHS is for.
I cannot understand so many MP's voting for this move to break up the NHS in Parliament - unless there is some other plan we don't know about. Surely it would be more beneficial for the whole of the NHS to be comprised of medically trained people in every position only, so that any emergency is covered without additional expense, and more savings can be made with greater efficiency.
Similarly - For Educational establishements and the Police Authorities. Public servants are no more than paper pushers - they know nothing about business nor other professions and they should not get involved.

I meant to ask what other posters believe, if it came to it would you just let the NHS disappear, or would you fight for it?
