Where Do You Draw The Line
The NHS has some of the best medical staff in the World, but the system as a whole has dropped from being the best system to around the eighteenth position.
Over the past thirty years, the NHS has undergone many changes, partially being privatised, various merging of departments, additional administration staff and new management.
The result has been longer waiting times for patients to be seen, cancellations of appointments and long waiting times while on appointments.
So where do you draw the line - obviously the medical staff and support staff are vital to the service. The privatisation of departments creates far more obstruction than resolutions and in these days of electronic communication - does the system require the enormous staff numbers for administration?
Would it not save on costs and time to centralise the system?

Why did this particular case gain Worldwide interest at that time?
I'd draw the line at starting another distasteful thread!

At this time it is very relevant - it is not distasteful since it relates to many events which are occurring today. However, if for any reason you find the topic insensitive - I will request admin remove it for you.

It has absolutely no relevance to any event currently occurring, it is a highly personal and painful event for the family involved which due to the area they live or lived it is possible they or a family member may come across your thread.
Perhaps if you hadn't cited a particular case?
I will close with one last comment, my heart goes out to the parents, family & friends and may little Alfie rest is peace.

It is the parents who are now supporting other children who may have to face what they went through. It would be so wrong to brush this under the carpet and pretend it did not happen. This one case was not the first, nor even the second. Yes, in hind sight it would have been better not to mention any case in particular - but it is this case which IS being discussed, and which is being referred to often in public because the situation should be resolved so no other parents should have to suffer so deeply. Everyone admires Tom he defended his son so well, and our sympathy for Kate who supported him throughout. But it is not finished - not until the law is changed, and this is what we are hoping to do.

Can I ask what you do for a living, it can't be much as you have more threads than Burton's workroom on the go.
I realise there are more than one of you so do you do shifts do you brief each other about what to post, is there anyone who actually reads your posts and is interested.
