The he's half mad but look at the other bloke defence is frankly off the chart in madness.
What could be better for the anti-Trump lobby than a fit well and most importantly capable candidate beating Trump by a large margin.
No one could argue with any conviction he has years of effective service to give.
More importantly the worlds despots might give the US some respect they must watch his cognitive meanderings and laugh.
I didn’t say Biden is half mad, nor do I believe he is, the world’s despots will be hoping for a Trump Presidency, these are the very people Trump openly admires and clearly aspires to emulate,
Sure Biden’s age is an issue in the US and other countries, but is it as much an issue as the Trump propaganda machine tries to promote?
Trump is a danger to the free world and must be defeated at the polls not on social media, slowly but surely the justice system is finally calling Trump to account, no matter how much he raves that this is all political, the facts say otherwise.

Democrats do have a number of likely contenders, but too late to jump ship now.
Technically they could replace Biden, but in practice not. There wouldn't be time to amass the donors or plan the campaigning.
What is fundamentally wrong is that in every respect Trump matches Biden for cognitive decline but has the added disadvantage of personality disorders. But the discussion, as here , seems to be all about Biden only.
Where Biden scores decisively is that he has the good sense to consult his advisers. When Trump was POTUS there was a constant turnover of people in key positions usually because they had the temerity to disagree with him. When that happened , of course, they were "idiots" although apparently they weren't when he hired them.
Here's the latest example of Trump's reluctance to embrace reality. He accused Hilary Clinton of destroying evidence using an acid "that could kill people within a ten mile radius". He is talking about SOFTWARE called Burnbyte.

The Trump party is numerically much smaller, but (oddly in view of Trump, himself) more coherent. And it constitutes a potent plurality given America's pseudo-democratic political institutions.

It is perhaps unfortunate that a movement resembling Make America Great Again, with its isolationist tendency did not emerge circa 1960 (or even 1860). The world would have been far different place than it became under U.S. hegemony. But, it might have been a tad more balanced. United States' interventionism has been a very mixed blessing. Needless to say, such counterfactual musing is pretty sterile pastime.

If it was true that Trump matches Biden for cognitive decline then he could wipe away most of the politically motivated charges, which do seem to be losing a bit of steam as it is.
The awkward truth is that the horrible one was always the smarter one.
His big mouth and arrogance has certainly added to his woes.
Sometimes being smarter than others does you no favours

"Smarter than others"
Dear God
Apart from his virtually daily word salads and confusing Biden with Obama , and forgetting WW2, he wouldn't be in such trouble if he was smart. He THINKS he is smart, which is his problem.
Here's an example. In his NY fraud trial, there was a stage where he had the option of having a jury trial. He didn't take it, and then kept repeatedly moaning because he wasn't having a jury trial.
In every case he is involved in he has made moves which have created further problems for him. He is currently running a high risk of increasing the amounts he has to pay by making unnecessary comments about E Jean Carroll. No wonder that lawyer after lawyer has walked away from him.
The man who thought the US could buy Greenland.
The man who thought using a nuclear bomb on a hurricane was a good idea.
The man who thought Finland was in Russia.
Why on earth do you think Putin wants him in the White House?

"Smarter than others" | Dear God
"Smart" is a usefully vague term, especially when applied to Donald Trump.- Is he stylish? No.
- Is he witty? Not especially.
- Cognitively versatile? Meh …
Cognitively, is appears Donald Trump has learned that he can 'get away' with behaviour that would (before Trump) have damaged U.S. political careers, at least at the federal level. The former President has a remarkably exploitative track record.
Is Trump "smart"? — That depends on ones point of view.
laps it up.

The horrible truth for Trump is quite simple, the skunk has got away with much that would have been the death knell for others, mainly because when challenged his response has always been to sue, knowing that most couldn’t afford the costs of a lengthy judicial process.
However many have discovered that call his threats and bluff and the big man backs down, plus of course he has now fallen foul (at last) of the law, this time of course his accusers have deeper pockets, aren’t intimidated, all that Trump has left, is to cry and whinge about prejudice and victimisation, my heart bleeds
Of course Trump being Trump he can’t help himself, repeats the same BS that got him in trouble in the first case.

The state Republican party is undaunted by electoral defeats for those claiming voting is rigged – and election officials are bearing the brunt of their fury
…
With Trump in the White House, she started burrowing down into online rabbit holes, following Cathy O’Brien and other conspiracy theorists. Her news source became the podcast of Trump’s former adviser Steve Bannon and the misinformation website of Dan Bongino.
…
“Machines aren’t the big problem, it’s not really an issue in my county,” he said.
The paradox is that the loudest, most passionate expressions of election denial are being made in staunch conservative parts of the state where the results of ballots are never in dispute. Trump trounced Biden in Mohave county by 75% to 24% – a margin that nobody would challenge.

It does show that, his stance on Russia in Ukraine saying he'd sort it out in 3 days and give them what they want has emboldened Putin.

I don't think there is any doubt that Trump would pose a danger to the West.
He would concede Ukraine right away, in the wholly mistaken belief that Ukraine is all Putin wants.
Putin would then know he had four years in which to annex a couple of other states.
His naivety regarding Putin is one of the many dangers we would face.

What Trump wants is to hold elections like Putin, elections where the result is known before a vote is cast.
