Almost over..............
After the main roll out of vaccines - life is gradually returning to normal even though many people are waiting for a first or second vaccination - this is, as it was expected.
The Isle of Man has now returned to normal activity, joining countries like New Zealand, Australia, China, Taiwan, South Korea etc., Mississippi and Texas are joining fifteen other states in the USA in stopping the mask mandate and allowing greater numbers in shops etc.,
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, announced on Tuesday afternoon that he is signing an executive order that will lift the state’s mandatory mask mandate and will do away with limits on the number of people that businesses can serve indoors effective next week.https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-texas-governor-greg-abbott-ends-mandatory-mask-mandate-time-to-open-texas-100?ut

Timing great, I o M just returned to lockdown, New Zealand have another outbreak, taking any notice of Texas is foolish at best, this against all advice, this is the state that couldn’t manage their own power sources.
Get back in your box, things are improving, but your thinking is what will easily trigger a further outbreak.
The first bit of sun has already brought out those who think it’s all over, your sort of comments encourages fools.

Coronavirus: Texas and other states ease rules despite warnings.
‘......the wave of reopenings has put states at odds with the Biden administration and its senior health officials, who have reacted with dismay to the relaxation of coronavirus measures at a precarious time in the pandemic.’

We've at least 2 major hurdles to overcome, apart from the Covidiots wandering around Southport like the Walking Dead at the first sign of a bit of sun.
I'm certain we'll see a big rise in infection after the schools go back. Even if they had a staggered return, I think that is inevitable. How big an increase is uncertain.
The other is these 'variants' that keep popping up. Again inevitable. It is what viruses do, find a way to infect us in increasingly efficient ways. The 'Brazil' variant seems the most concerning right now. Not as concerning as a £22bn track & trace system that seems to be reduced to sellotaping wanted posters to lampposts in the most likely areas.
We've had over a year to learn from more successful country's zero Covid policies. Which is more or less all of them with a few notable exceptions. People from 'red' countries can mix happily with other passengers in airports. An acquaintance returned from Mexico recently with passengers from South America, without a single check. This really needs addressing if we are to have a chance of returning to normal.
