Don't need brainwashing by that Tory rag, but every item I have seen on tv about crash for cash/ grooming of young girls have been carried out by the Asian population.
Some are still here 7 years after being given deportation orders but the good old Human Rights means appeal after appeal if John Smith and a gang of like minded Brits from Cleckheaton travelled to any Asian Country to do the same they would be executed toot sweet.
Yes I know the Government (Home Office) is responsible for carrying out the deportation so HOW once found guilty can they still be here it's a wrongdoers charter to be treated better than the victims.

It has very little to do with Human Rights it is down to the will of the Government and the Home Office. The Politicians are all Bluster and the Home Office Agencies don't have the resources to do the job.
I think that you will find that there is quite a number of Brits that do travel to Asia for sex with minors.

I do some work overseas with a British governmental organisation, that may involve minors, and therefore requires my vetting by the Child Protection Agency and the completion of study and then certification in Child Protection. As part of the training I was taught that the British sometimes even work overseas because it is an opportunity to abuse minors. Shocking, but worryingly true.

It is to do with Human rights.
Abusers have British wives and children innocent of crimes.
The law needs changing with a clear warning to Foreign and dual Nationals
that some crimes forfeit UK residency.
A deterrent is needed.

If they have been convicted they must be estranged from their children under Child Protection Regulations and by default their wives so there should be little problem in deporting them, the main problem I think is that many of them have been born here, tougher sentences are required and longer and more efficient monitoring is required but that is an issue because successive Governments have been elected on a 'Less Taxes' ticket, it is time to ask the electorate the question 'Do you want services or more cuts, the status quo doesn't work so you either pay for more services and it will cost you £xx or you can have more cuts and you then take responsibility for Caring for yourself, pay for Medical Treatment, Insure yourself against Unemployment etc and we will reduce Taxes to £xx.
I think I know what the answer will be.

Back to OP as to how the latest variant has emerged, of course nothing to do with allowing British residents/citizens returning from India unchecked, it was painfully obvious that the new variant was spreading rapidly through India yet returnees from India were being allowed totally free entry into the country, all the early cases all related to foreign travel.
Yet no-one seems to mention this, probably for fear of being accused of racism.
I notice Formby has become an area of interest in the new variant surge.

Yes. That is the reality. Australia went OTTP, but actions or lack of actions have cnsequences.

On telly this morning it was mentioned that we trying for a trade deal with India and don't want to upset the apple cart.
Some lessons aren't being learnt, once we start holidaying abroad we will export the virus then import it again once it starts going rife in those counties.

Mutations, by definition are spontaneous so could occur anywhere simultaneously. That's not to say border control isn't important though.
At last somebody who knows what they are talking about. There is also no evidence it is any more dangerous than other variants or that the vaccines are ineffective. The areas where there is high prevalence are generally areas with low vaccine take up. Go figure, their loss.

Yes. It does appear to be a variant of concern.

"On the other hand, 60% of doctors in the intensive care unit in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, Delhi's largest Covid-19 hospital, were infected after being fully vaccinated, but none required hospitalisation, according to Dr Farah Husain, a critical care specialist. "Some of the members of their families got sick and needed hospitalisation," she said."
Now, these were healthy, relatively young doctors. So should we worry more about the Indian variant?

Also areas which will have a high proportion of returnees from India, plus of course areas with a lower vaccine take up. Now their risk of infection is increased due to low vaccine take up, sure their loss, but they also provide a reservoir of infection and continued spread.

And a greater possibility of mutation?

Blackburn & Bolton may have more people coming in from South Asia but I doubt that applies to Formby, Hightown and Marshside. I notice they are now talking about 3 Indian variants, a fortnight ago I also heard about a Bolton variant but that soon went quiet perhaps that was the 3rd Indian one.

You only need a few carriers to bring any infection to an area, particularly one which has proved to be readily transmitted.

I think I know what the answer will be.
I assumed you meant people not born in the UK otherwise deporting is very difficult.
