Lifting over a Hedge
I will be getting something delivered in the next few weeks.
It will need lifting from kerb side (not busy) over a 6 foot hedge into my garden (probably no more than 10 foot).
Weight is approx 400kg.
Needs to be lifted over due to restrictions in path width.
Any ideas?
Would be easy money with anyone with a hi ab.
I don't have an exact delivery date yet but just looking to get something planned in advance.

If not Rustage D A & J

No wall. The hedge is from the ground, around 6 foot high.

It is a hot tub and is delivered on a trailer but they will not lift it over the hedge.
Thanks for the lead on the hi ab.
I kind of need to co-ordinate a suitable 'joint' time as it will cost £45 for every hour the installation team hang around.

Will it benefit from a gap?

Do you not need anything delivered from builders? When they deliver ask can they lift hot tub over. Have it prepared ready. Giving cash usually helps? Just an idea.

That could work - but will they have suitable slings to put around the tub?
Alternatively......open a VERY BIG can of spinach!

Choice of ramp and pulley, telescopic Fork Lift, small crane, Boom Lift etc., - have you got any mates who work in a builder's yard or skip hire? Or is there any chance of moving it in parts?

Massams might do it and supply you with some garden stuff at the same time.

Can you dig out a section of the hedge and get them to take it off the trailer straight in situ then plant the section back.

Ha ha yea he might be better cutting the hedge down altogether and putting a new big fence up if he is going to sit in a hot tub watching the cars and people go past peeping in .

A few years ago we ordered a delivery of a Gazebo.
It came on a truck with a crane lift to place over our brick wall about the same height.
Should have heard our dismay when the driver dropped it on our driveway.
Never made it out of the winch he just hooked it back over came around to collect the broken bits after.
