Peoples from all over the world have come to this country because they were invited because of the shortcomings of our glorious colonial past and why are we terrorist targets - became we have been interfering in their countries, we have been the USA's lapdogs who have used us to justify their interventions.

Britain has become a soft touch …we cannot hang on to the past. I have seen life in the colonial countries , which at the time was under British rule.
Unfortunately there came the pay back time. For this we can thank our ancestors.
BTW, regarding the USA..The United States have always been a strong ally of Britain. Without their intervention during WW2, who knows what would be

This situation bothers me immensely ,just as much as the Middle East problem.
I think today, ( according to what I have witnessed on TV and read) many Palestinians have come to their senses and want Hamas out. ASAP.
I intensely dislike repeating what I have written in previous posts.
You, as people, who have been educated and can see both sides of the conflict
I ask you, to sincerely look again at the situation.
Hamas destroyed Gaza, because of the greed of their leaders. Men who have never had a penny to their name, suddenly have found themselves
able to whittle away literally millions and millions into their own bank accounts.
Hamas, are passing exaggerated news statements about who is killed etc
I hope for world peace, that this conflict will cease quickly. It’s a horrific time for humanity.
I haven’t seen any mention on the forum of what happened in Russia by 4 Turkish ISIS terrorists
Oooops Shippy, they are Turkish not Israeli Jews.
Hi Shippy
The world is a very unstable place.
As for Gaza what hope is there for the children brought up under Radical Islamic Jihad teachings?
If not Israel where else will the hatred spread?

THERE IS STILL a narrow path out of the hellscape of Gaza. A temporary ceasefire and hostage release could cause a change of Israel's government; the rump of Hamas fighters in south Gaza could be contained or fade away; and from the rubble, talks on a two-state solution could begin, underwritten by America and its Gulf allies. It is just as likely, however, that ceasefire talks will fail. That could leave Israel locked in the bleakest trajectory of its 75-year existence, featuring endless occupation, hard-right politics and isolation. Today many Israelis are in denial about this, but a political reckoning will come eventually. It will determine not only the fate of Palestinians, but also whether Israel thrives in the next 75 years.
…
…A struggle for Israel's future awaits. The battle in Gaza is just the start.

Sadly Hamas has rejected the UN call for a complete ceasefire.
What do you suggest next?
So just to make it clear my number of 700,000 Jewish settlers in Gaza is not being disputed ?
Fight terrorism by all means but their not (or at least very well) the IDF are "fighting" women children, infrastructure and innocents it seems.
Chasing individuals with 2,000lb bombs is akin to flattening Ainsdale Village for a terrorist.

There is no excuse for antisemitism and child abuse abroad or at home.
Would you still support Palestine after Statehood achieved?

From the barbaric outrages of the murdering scum Hamas to a position where Israel is becoming an international outcast.
The baying mobs looking to realise their ethnically cleansed dreams is not doing Israel any good.

Two young American Jews - Simone Zimmerman and Eitan - are raised to defend the state of Israel at all costs. Eitan joins the Israeli military. Simone supports Israel on ‘the other battlefield:’ America’s college campuses. When they witness Israel's mistreatment of the Palestinian people with their own eyes, they are horrified and heartbroken.
They join the movement of young American Jews battling the old guard over Israel’s centrality in American Judaism, and demanding freedom for the Palestinian people. Their stories reveal a generational divide in the American Jewish community as more young Jews question the narratives their synagogues and Hebrew school teachers fed them as children. |
The film also features voices like Jacqui, a Jewish educator who says “Judaism is Israel and Israel is Judaism”, and former Anti-Defamation League President Abe Foxman, who claims voices like Simone and Eitan’s represent a small minority. Thought leaders like Peter Beinart, Jeremy Ben-Ami, Noura Erakat, Cornel West, and Noam Chomsky also weigh in.
Directed by two first-time Jewish filmmakers who share a similar story to the film’s protagonists, Israelism is produced by Peabody-winner and 4-time Emmy-nominee Daniel J. Chalfen (Loudmouth, Boycott), executive produced by two-time Emmy-winner Brian A. Kates (Marvelous Ms. Maisel, Succession) and edited by Emmy-winner Tony Hale (The Story of Plastic), Israelism uniquely explores how Jewish attitudes towards Israel are changing dramatically, with massive consequences for the region and for Judaism itself. |

There are no Jewish 'settlers' in Gaza.
Before October 7th Gaza had no Jews.
The IDF clearly are fighting Hamas and trying to free Israeli hostages.
Fighting is on the ground mostly.
If it was so easy why are there so many IDF soldiers dead?

All proven.
There is no crime of IDF 'genocide' proven just a blood libel you keep repeating.
You did not answer my question.
Would you still support Palestine after Statehood gained?

Zero, and your point is ?
It is a well known fact, that there is a decline in religious practicing of the Jewish faith.
The same goes for Christianity, many people have stopped attending church or confession…
As with most religions, holy holidays are celebrated, not for the religious beliefs anymore, but for the tradition of holiday times.
That is what is happening in Israel. The new generation of the-young Israeli doesn’t want to be tied down to the orthodox way of life ( which at the moment the present government are representing )
They want the freedom of choice and democracy, 45-50% of Jews in Israel are secular.
You have Israeli Arabs, Christian’s, atheists, etc

I really cannot imagine why Israel would bother on being an outcast with Russia and Chine,South Africa and all the other human rights abusing Western Democracy haters.
The only ones that matter should concentrate on reinforcing the release of the Israeli hostages and the creation of a Palestinian State.

Thank you Local, for at least recognizing that Hamas are barbaric scum.
Yes it is sincerely a very sensitive situation that Netanyahu has brought the IDF soldiers into. Unfortunately, Hamas are hiding under the skirts of those civilian's..
There is no fighting in Rafeh , ( the last city the IDF haven’t entered )the Israeli army is waiting to see if a ceasefire of sorts can be achieved.
I understand that quite a few Hamas doubled back to the North of Gaza through those miles of tunnels. They arrived to the Shifa Hospital..more tunnels and stock piles of armaments were found, together with food supplies. Over 450 Hamas surrended and are now being interrogated and I hope they can pinpoint where the hostages are being held.
