And certainly, Israel is much less indiscriminate in its targeted retaliation strikes against Hamas.

I believe the majority of Palestinians just want their own independent State, with its own government, capital, army, navy, airforce, passports, embassies etc, in the same way that Israel has....A reckless minority would go much further, but I see that as no reason to 'scorch' everyone. Far from it, as actions like that only serve to radicalise the entire population.
