…agreement (of a sort!?)

…No incentive to peace in that.
So, we are in agreement.
There is no peace in sight. Israelis and Palestinians will continue to suffer conflict.
Each side accusing the other of intransigence.

Yes though I am never giving up hope even if it is not in our lifetime peace negotiations.
Mahmood Abbas's Fatah party.
Hamas.
Leaders will change.
If not for Hamas attack on Israel Netanyahu would be on the way out already.

Netanyahu is propped up by parties much much worse than the BNP.
They are actively targetting the Supreme Court to let rip with their horrendous policies.
Someone is voting for it.
Israel is gripped by a right that makes Trump look like Gandhi.
Is it any wonder the Palestinians have turned to Hamas their in-house mercenaries, without them they would be quickly over-run.
Your house is under siege from the local bullies today, the law turns a blind eye, what do you do in your desperate plight, vote Liberal Democrat and hope or find your own "Kray Twins"
Without at least some equality of arms, the deal offered to Palestine is a sick joke.

Back in 2013, a USA television presenter was interviewing the then Iranian Prime Minister - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The conversation went like this:
Presenter. "Do you repress Jewish people in Iran?"
PM. "No, we have many Jewish people working alongside Iranian people and they are not repressed"
Presenter. " Do you agree with Hamas in Palestine, repressing the Jewish people in Israel?"
PM "You come here and ask me abut Jewish repression? It has nothing to do with us, we had no part in it. Why are you not asking those in the West, the European people, they repressed the Jewish people very much - why don't they give the Jewish people a new land in Europe, or the Americans - why don't they give the Jewish people Alaska?

I'm not sure Jewish people would want Alaska it can be a bit chilly although I'm sure they would have the wit to make a go of it.
There are a number of Jewish Groups that do not blindly blame Hamas and support the occupation;
Na'amod
We are a movement of British Jews seeking to end our community’s support for the occupation, and to mobilise it in the struggle for freedom, equality and justice for all Palestinians and Israelis
We’re Jewish, and we want the occupation of Palestine to end

Alaska has a population of approx 6.000 Jews who jokingly call themselves 'the frozen chosen'.

I can believe that - those Jewish people who travel to Southport from Manchester, also have a great sense of humour.

Thank you for that link.
I could not find a statement from Na'amod if they were 'for' a Two State solution so presume they are not.

This is an excellent video that explains the conflicts over history. For those who are confused about Israel/Palestine, you should watch it - it is very interesting. Since it is a long history, the video is fast - so pay attention.

Personally I’d recommend this.

Obviously History is not one of your interests , is it? The video aligns closely to historical fact. However Hamas will be forgotten for a while as Syria and Israel now battle it out for the oil.
Noam Chomsky describes himself as an anarcho-syndicalist and libertarian socialist, and is considered to be a key intellectual figure within the left wing of politics of the United States. So not really impartial then.

Noam Chomsky wants an end to the occupation and peace in Israel as we all do.
I think he should go for it-left wing President loads money and pressure on Israel re arms and funding.
Biden has restored all aid to Palestine through Fatah to keep the money out of Hamas hands.
This is the best time for partition.
The only shame is Chomsky is unlikely to live long enough for the 'we told you so' moment when the independent State of Palestine invades Israel or is invaded by another Arab Country and attacks Israel.
I am assuming of course the USA has an ulterior motive in protecting the Middle East strategically.
A view unchallenged by the western countries victims of suicide bombers as a political statement.

A minimally viable West Bank requires Israel to evacuate all its settlements. Are you ready to countenance that?

Who is doing the "we told you so"?

“The last paradox is that the tale of Palestine from the beginning until today is a simple story of colonialism and dispossession, yet the world treats it as a multifaceted and complex story—hard to understand and even harder to solve.” |
