I always work on it not mattering whether I’m in the right I’ll still come off the worst in any collision with a car.

I fail to see your point though, you just seem to only be concerned in justifying your poor attitude towards other road users.

No, I have a good attitude towards other road users, I am very courteous and never loose my rag no matter how many stupid and sometimes angry people I come across on the road , I always have an eye out for my passengers opening doors on people and think once think twice and think bike. I have had a full motorbike licence since the 2 part test came in 40 yrs ago and recently re discovered the vulnerability of riding along on a couple of sticks of metal when I had my electric bike a couple of years ago.
Not all cyclists are righteous idiots that purposely fail to understand the obvious and not all passengers look when opening doors .

Well why post how you deliberately block cyclists from filtering if you’re attitude is so good?

If you are an experienced motorcyclist or a cyclist that has had an accident or not ( like me ) you should know the first six words that a driver will ALWAYS say to you while you are lying on the ground if you are still conscious .

So what are the first six words you will hear?.

SMIDSY, Sorry Mate I Didn’t See You.

It’s usually then followed up when taking a statement after the event with ‘they were obviously speeding’ to which I’d always ask how would they know that if they hadn’t seen them.

If you read my first post again it says coming up on the inside of me while I am attempting to turn left with indicators flashing, that statement implies I am at the junction and have seen that it’s safe and committed to turning and after checking all mirrors again then back to the near side one here comes someone intent to pass as I turn.
People will say all sorts to try to deny accountability, that they were speeding it’s their fault is pretty standard. If I am in a long line of traffic like the ones these new lanes will cause then of course I allow cyclists to pass in lane and on the inside of me and they are free to risk people opening doors, walking in front of them out of nowhere and turning across them but closer to the lights you can forget it .
Don’t crack on you haven’t seen this a million times and sometimes one mistake like this is all you need to finish you, the spinal wards are full of righteous cyclists that in general don't or can’t speed but can go fast enough to just appear thinking it’s ok to pass when they can see you are about to turn, the road position and the flashing indicators should give it away.

Unfortunately I have seen it, although fortunately, not a million times! (I’ve also had to do CPR by the side of the road when someone got it wrong. Sh*t like that never leaves you.) Having to pass the message that someone’s loved one isn’t coming home isn’t much fun either.

    You’re the one who’s posted:-

‘My left hand mirror has saved more lives than Florence nightingale, nowerdays while turning left at lights my road position is such that bike lane or not there’s no room on my near side to pass .. like it or not.’

    And:-

‘ Quote the Highway Code and all the legalities to the hospital porters as they carry you in as you are a danger to yourself going up the inside of indicating vehicles turning left, yea I can do what I like I don’t care about you on your stupid bicycle if you are going to do daft tricks like that ‘

So you first imply that you’re quite happy to block someone on the approach to a junction and then how you can do what you like as you don’t care about someone on a bike

It doesn’t really fit with your other posts claiming you never get mad at any road users does it.

If anyone is reading this and thinks I am anti cyclist I am not, I understand people enjoy cycling as I rediscovered when I had my electric bike ( a top one ). The only words to describe the experience was pure joy but I found I was suddenly very vulnerable on busy roads. I have noticed that the older the cyclist is the more likely they are to dismount and cross roads at crossings often with a small amount of shopping in their basket, then again tho I suppose that’s how they got to be old.
I believe in live and let live.

I’ll do what I like to save you from yourself and if folk do stupid tricks like that I don’t care what they think or if THEY get angry if they have to wait 30 seconds behind me rather than pass me as I am turning,I will do all that I can to stop them hurting themselves so you don’t have to give them CPR. Like it or not.
There’s something in the Highway Code about not causing others to alter their speed or swerve to avoid you, I am no expert so I ask you who is at fault if a vehicle is indicating and committed to turning left when a bicycle suddenly appears on the inside of you and you squash it with your big lorry. It beggars belief that anyone would put themselves at risk this way. Maybe it’s the bikes fault or maybe it’s the lorries fault but the outcome is pretty the same.
No I don’t get angry behind the wheel, I suppose the angry gets worn away after years of watching folk do stupid things, now I just watch them and every time think just when you thought you have seen it all... and when the sun comes out and motorists start shouting at each other it doesn’t affect me at all.

Surface transport emissions have been broadly flat over the past decade, falling only 3% between 2008 and 2018. Surface transport has emerged as the single highest emitting sector in the UK since 2015, and the current trend is off track to contribute as required to meeting the fourth and fifth carbon budgets and Net Zero.
…The lack of progress in reducing new car CO2 in the last two years is largely due to the
significant growth in SUVs from 6% market share in 2008 to 25% in 2019.

you have to laugh...has anyone seen a cyclist recently?....southport is to windy and wet for 99% of people...only the die hard brain dead, cycle in the bad weather...meanwhile the rest of us are punished to make way for this mythical lycra cyclist....and you wonder why the town centre is deserted...marks and spencers will soon be closed because of the eco lycras liberal eco idiots along with many others....meanwhile ...the smart retailers are thriving out of town...soon all the retailers will be out of town and the town centre just a memory...spattered with a few bycicles of course...which will be stolen!

MICK/GILLY stop trying to argue your point with the cyclists. Cyclists will always be right and the motorist will always be in the wrong.

We'll live in the real world and they can live in their utopia, but when it all grinds to a halt, comes crashing down around them and Southport is a ghost town, don't say we didn't tell you.

Don't waste your time typing an argument to them, I have better things to do with my energy, like breathing!

  25. MICK/GILLY says:26/05/2021 08:27 PM
suppose your right, with respect one wants to argue against common sense and safety and without respect the other just resorts to anger, profanity and insults.
