Very interesting I am firmly in the defence of women and children camp and strongly object to their subjugation and indoctrination.
I do worry how people twist and turn to defend people who seek to take away the rights and freedoms they enjoy from others, especially children.
Search your conscience and put the drawbridge back down, please.
How has this been reported? Brendan O’Neill in the Spectator described the report as a victory for the “mob”, assisted by the “cowardice” of institutions that have “caved in to intolerance”.
Other reports have opted to describe the outcome without comment, while giving prominent place to its critics. The Telegraph’s Camilla Turner, for example, reported: “Critics have warned that teachers should not face a ‘religious veto’ on what material they can use in the classroom, adding that the Trust’s stance is a ‘route to censorship’.”

It is not just about Muslim children.
It is unfair of a teacher to put non Muslim children in the difficult position of taking part in an act they know their friends find offensive.

Yes, female and male, Muslim and non Muslim, the students were put in an invidious position.
I wonder if the teacher will seek to have the motion withdrawn from the trade union conference given they have accepted it was an unprofessional thing to do.

Did any of you say anything you shouldn't have as a child then watch out the England Cricket Board is on your case.
Who the hell do these people think they are it is nothing whatsoever to do with them what an England Player posted as a teenager LONG BEFORE he had anything to do with England. What is the standard to play for England a non computer using homosexual Vicar?

Clearly, the problem is the indoctrination of children to believe that they should be offended.
This embedded false belief is exacerbated by the ensuing bullying campaign to entrench the right to impose your values on others.
It is a victory for the bullies, nearly always men, how any person in the free world can consider defending this behaviour is beyond me.
Please search your conscience enjoy your freedoms of thought and expressions and let others have the same.
Can any of us imagine removing this freedom from our own children, to grow up with their choice of beliefs, who they associate with and live with.

None of which explains why you want to offend Muslims.

Local - I've just been leafing through my Lonely Planet South East Asia On A Shoestring and discovered that Buddhists find being patted on the head incredibly offensive. Does this mean you and your fellow freethinkers will be out bopping them on the bonce? After all what are the silly sensibilities of a religious minority compared with your right to freedom of speech?

I am appalled at the linguistic gymnastics people will go through to defend bullies and the restriction of people's rights to the freedoms we enjoy.
This is about the UK, pointing out some far-flung country is offended by pats on the heads or pink socks is frankly desperate.

So you don't know there are Buddhists in Britain. Probably just as well given you'd be going round exercising your democratic right to pat them on the head.

Frankly pathetic attempt to defend the "right" of children and women to be indoctrinated and subjugated.
The bullies will love you, well done I'm sure your very pleased why not bring in stoning of women for good measure.
Any other barmy comparisons.

So how do you imagine offending Muslims helps to liberate them?

They are only offended because the horrible old misogynists told them to be to protect their position.
Removing that manufactured offence undermines the system that keeps women and children as second class citizens.
The requirement to adhere to a strict moral code and governance model is classic.
The rigid social order needs maintaining with threat and harassment.
If you want to throw away our rights for children and women to be free then let the false offended take root in our schools and support them.
Perhaps you could join them outside any school that bothers them and help harass the children and teachers,
your managing to support them very well so far.
I'm alright Jack, or is it Joanna springs to mind.
You have your freedoms but don't seem to want others to have it, why?

So you think you liberate people by offending them. Did the Russian revolution happened when Lenin called the proletariat work shy morons?
Who is this "horrible old misogynist" you keep referring to? Presumably whoever it was who wrote the second commandment.
I expect you think patting Buddhists on the head will somehow help Rohingyas.
