Surely Osborne has too much baggage from his previous life and no history in the Arts sector.

Maybe the British Museum needs decorating and Gideon reminded them he can get cheap wallpaper. I mean if you could get £300 a roll wallpaper for £200 would you have a dabble? Plus his grandfather Rear Admiral Sir Hugh Jarse spent the war in New Zealand at the Royal Navy Ablution Requisites HQ. So no problem with Battleship Grey paint.

OMG- Michael Rosen is a friend of Palestine.
OMG-Michael Rosen supports Corbyn.
OMG is Michael Rosen Jewish?
I should have asked 'What first attracted you to a Jewish Hero'?

Got a BA in Modern History.
That top trumps English and Jurisprudence.
Osborne will also look better on the shiny brochures.

Modern History?? Only if it is a modern History museum. His qualifications/experience has nothing to do with Ancient History/Artefacts - he would be as unqualified as an English teacher for that post.
Blair's qualification - if one can call it that - is an idiot's degree!

Modern History is useful for a museum too.
So is diplomacy and seasoned traveller.
Boardroom debating.
Don't feel too bad for Michael Rosen.
He is a really special human being and talent though not best suited to a job so stuffy as chair of the British Museum.
I remember an interview he gave saying he had not had a job since 1972.
I don't want him to give up writing.
Lately recovering from Covid after being seriously ill too.
