The Chinese have already gone out of their way to clean up.

Given that the US NIH and NIAID was funding the Wuhan 'bat lady's' work, they also carry some responsibility for lab security. In 2018 US inspectors found that security levels were inadequate, along with poorly trained staff. I've no idea if the standards were improved and verified by further US inspections. They certainly should have been, but I've not seen anything from the US govt. stating that was the case. As it turns out, Trump's 'Kung Flu' was really as much of an indictment of the US government as it was of China!

What is undisputable, is that the US was funding the development of a novel Coronavirus with the highest possible infectivity for human cells... something that some scientists believe should never have been funded or carried out.

Trumps open mouth policy probably gave China some valuable time to
    remove the evidential trail.

US funding was apparently to bring the labs up to higher safety standard.

I haven't read or seen any proof the US was directly involved in development.

Perhaps Obama might comment (If he even knows)

That, and the conflict of interest of the two virologists who vigorously denied that the virus could have escaped, couldn't help but give me pause for thought. Coupled with the way the virus evolved to be able to infect humans, it's conceivable that it didn't evolve naturally. Food for thought!
Yes, I had much the same experience reading the piece.

I was also shocked the more I read up about the reckless scientific insanity that is the innocuous-sounding 'gain-of-function' research.

Good article. Made my poor brain hurt a bit

I recall the wholesale dismissal from all parties when it was first suggested that the virus was home grown, or 'escaped' from a lab. Doesn't seem quite so bizarre now.

We know the kind of horrors that individual governments, from 'friendly' to distinctly unfriendly, have (supposedly) contained within biological weapons labs. Probably the kind of organisms that make smallpox look like a summer cold. Plus chemicals such as Novichok and worse. You'd hope that they'd have the most stringent of precautions in those places.

But as this article shows, that isn't the case. Aerosols, fomites, accidents and deliberate release makes us incredibly vulnerable. And it's inevitable that the next pandemic is maybe a few years away, rather than decades.

Given that we can't get Covidiots to wear a mask for 20 minutes in Tesco, it doesn't bode well for the human race. Faster than wiping our stupid selves out by climate change, I suppose.

What a ridiculous analogy. If it rains you get wet. If you have an umbrella you do not get wet because an umbrella is designed to keep you covered. An umbrella is of a material with perforations smaller than rain drops. If there is a virus - believe it or not - nothing is designed to prevent you from catching it. Not an umbrella, not a face shield, not a mask, not a distance of two metres, not if you sit down or stand up, not if you kept your hands in disinfectant constantly. Instead of insulting me - why not try to disprove what I state? You cannot - for I am not wrong. I am not blinded by liberalistic views.

We have proved what you state wrong on so many occasions, we provide links to reputable sources but you simply refuse to accept that it is you who is wrong, you believe you are the only person with the "truth" a truth that falls apart at every level, there is only so long we can bang our heads against a brick wall.

Can you not understand the principles of mask wearing?

By your simplistic understanding or should I say misunderstandings we would all have to wear plastic bags on our heads.

Tight-fitting respirators must seal to the wearer’s face to provide the expected protection. If there’s a leak in the face seal, they may be exposed to harmful airborne contaminants.
Fit testing is required by law in many different countries around the world and is being increasingly adopted by companies as best practice - even where there is not a mandatory requirement to fit test.

Which is why I shaved my beard off when I started on the asbestos contracts.

Even a badly fitting mask can lower the viral load.

It is undoubtedly better to have a perfectly fitting high-grade mask.

The Prof cannot it seems unravel his binary head around the issue clearly demonstrating his non-scientific background.

A good scientist will embrace and admit to mistakes made. This is what drives good science. A readiness to allow your peers to examine and question your findings is how good science furthers itself.
I’m yet to see u/nSaid admit to or retract any of the unscientific drivel he posts on here, regardless of how many multiple times he’s shot down in flames over some ridiculous statement.

The difficulty for our Cut and Paste Professor is finding a retraction someone else has written to post.

Yes I too could c&P a whole lot of say astronomical or veterinary science on here but could not support it as I know diddly squat about the subjects.

I suppose I could then copy the Prof and claim anyone who questioned it was brainwashed by the mainstream media and big companies.

    There's a plan..................

He / she / it can't see the virus therefore in their minds (if they have one between them) it doesn't exist therefore masks are totally useless and not required. Simple really just like them.

Why do you think there are huge protests in almost every country? What you think they are doing it for nothing? Or do you just on the off chance, think there just may be something behind it?

You are NOT keeping anyone safe - you have been told that you are to keep you compliant. The virus is not alive! The virus does not affect almost the whole population! The virus is less dangerous than a cold! Did you see people dropping down dead in the street? Did you see Funeral Directors rushed off their feet? Did you see the mass pyres of burning bodies? No! The visual evidence does not agree with that which you are TOLD.

I take it you are the only one in the world who hasn’t seen the funeral pyres in India, never mind, just carry on with your denials, best not to post too much, then you can believe that you are right.
