Batley and Spen
I see the delightful Galloway claims he is going to challenge the result of the election, evidently some one said nasty (true) things about him, poor lamb must think he is Trump or something.

Didn't he promise to eat his hat if Labour didn't come third? Mind he doesn't choke.
He's an odious turd of a man. Still can't figure out who thought for a second he was actually for 'workers' and voted for him.
Congrats to Kim, however slim her winning margin. Not sure where she stands on the '50 Shades of Labour' scale, from 'Starmeristas' to 'Corbynistas', but I hope she does well for her constituency. She seems passionate enough.

Somewhat different, the Brexit farce can’t be undone, since you bring up the subject, Lord Frost reportedly has stated that Brexiteers are surprised by the speed and how much relations between the UK and the EU have deteriorated, why the surprise??? Remainers were forecasting this long, long ago, but what’s done is done and we all have to live with it.
Incidentally respecting a vote doesn’t mean we have to like it, accept it sure, like it, not automatic.

That Liberal Democrat revival didn't last long.

The Lib Dem vote share only reduced from 4.7% to 3.3%, and a reduction was to be expected in what was perceived and indeed was a close election result. The percentages of the minor parties, in a specific contest, often get squeezed by tactical voting.
That Lib Dem's recent big night in Chesham and Amersham, where they leaped from 26.3% to a winning 56.7%, came at the expense and the squeeze of a number of parties including, predictably, Labour, whose vote share percentage collapsed from 12.9% to 1.6% - the worst ever by-election vote share percentage in Labour's history.
But I agree that there's no real groundswell of support in the country for the Lib Dems. Their national poll percentage has stayed within a narrow 6% to 9% band for a year. I expect that a large proportion of the electorate couldn't tell you who the Lib Dem's leader is. There is a sizeable proportion of Labour voters who don't recognise their party so will easily switch to voting tactically for the Lib Dems. Still, as has been much discussed, the Tory blue wall is under threat from the Lib Dems.
Boris has served his purpose and is increasingly a liability. Many senior Tories in Government look compromised, sleazy, and/or unpleasant. To pick up on a recently lesser-heard phrase it's time to "drain the swamp." Certainly, a "new broom" is needed.
Just like there were many on the Labour left who while happy for Kim Leadbeater's success, wouldn't really have been disappointed at all if Labour had lost Batley and Spen, there's an increasing number of Conservatives who would find consolation in England losing at the football on Sunday.

I don't quite perceive threat more occasional mild irritation at best.
Boris has of course been written off before including on here where his demise was predicted in the weeks following his leadership bid.
And who could forget the Cummings puppet master allegations
