Mask in shops for some time yet, on public transport/taxis probably always. I have always kept a social distance, I hate it when people I hardly know invade my personal space, I have always found handshaking uncomfortable. With hand washing I was brought up by parents who were both nurses so it was never an issue, I've always washed my hands regularly, I was in work one day and someone commented "was I scrubbing for surgery" I've used hand sanitizer for donkeys’ years, epically after exiting a strange loo as you don't know who been using it and if they've bothered to wash their hands. One thing I wasn't doing but will certainly continue to do so is wiping down supermarket basket/trolley handles.

Did your parents never teach you that your skin has an acidity level of 5.5? That your skin is one of the most unlikely surfaces for a virus to survive on. That your skin is absolutely crawling with bacteria - if it were not, it would grow a mould? Never mind - just carry on.

Yet dare I mention, you probably constantly touch a huge variety of surfaces without even thinking about it. But don't worry you are completely safe at present.

My work college currently has his eldest daughter self isolating at her boy friends house has he has Covid 19 also his eldest son has as of to day been put into isolation as someone he's been in contact with at school has Covid 19.

My apprentice has phoned me today to say he's not going to be in work as his brother has just contracted Covid 19.

All these cases are from local schools and all different schools.

As far as I'm aware no one is partially poorly thankfully.

So will I be giving everything up on the first day of "freedom" No will I bollox.
My wife, my self and my eldest Son who is 19 are all fully vaccinated, Partly down to age (51 & 52) and partly down to the fact my Son is at high risk. But I am under no illusion, the vaccination will not stop us getting it, all it does is hopefully reduce the symptoms.

I presume you are referring to cases testing positive as opposed to suffering from any virus because the virus cannot survive in warm weather. Rhinovirus can,and many people get summer colds - but not this type. Never mind - carry on as you are if you are happy to do so.

Yes and that is what I use PH neutral products, my hands are indeed covered in bacteria, friendly bacteria that my body recognises therefore causes me no harm.

I will carry on, in the knowledge that I'm not a selfish twunt, I'll carry on with basic hygiene and use common sense so we might just avoid another lockdown over the winter period.

Here we go again, “the virus can’t survive in warm weather” open your eyes, try looking at events in other countries, then possibly just think again, lack of knowledge is one thing, deliberate stupidity is something else.

    Prof, to save yourself would you like to rethink your post and at least edit it;

    Conclusions
The 9-hour survival of SARS-CoV-2 on human skin may increase the risk of contact transmission in comparison with IAV, thus accelerating the pandemic. Proper hand hygiene is important to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infections.

Did your parents never teach you that the following are all a type of viral skin infection?

    Viral skin infections:-

    shingles (herpes zoster)
    chickenpox.
    Molluscum contagiosum.
    warts.
    measles.
    hand, foot, and mouth disease.

I suppose it's inevitable but all topics - regardless of what they are about - eventually settle down into a political left/right divide. I would have thought that an issue such as this would stimulate reasoned thought and people would make up their minds according to sensible logic. But no, everything has to be put into a political box regardless of the common sense angle.
I would have thought that many on the political left would be glad to get their lives back and also many on the political right would be fearful of the consequences, but those people would be reluctant to admit that to others because it would go against their tribal instincts.
