pubs and waiter service
I enjoy going to pub with my husband now, because of the waiter service.
I am not left alone at the table. While he goes and waits at the bar to be served.
Most other countries have it. Why doesn't Britain?

It would put the price of the drinks up and most pubs are not laid out for that.

Wetherspoons have had an app to order, pay and have drinks brought to your table for years, well before the pandemic.
I was in The Allotment last night and you order from your table via an app, as you do in The Bold (Churchtown) I'm all for it.
However it shouldn't be the only method, some people don't have a mobile.

Was in the Grasshopper the other night. The waiter service was excellent. Yes, it makes for a much more social evening as no one has to leave the group and go to the bar. We tipped the young woman serving us as she did a great job so I guess that's an extra cost but it was a service worth paying for.

I prefer waiter service. Much better than waiting to catch the barman's eye while blokes barge and elbow their way to the front and get served first.

Why don't you go to the bar for the drinks, take it in turns.
I'm only happy when it rains....

Please cross the channel and it’s hello would you like smoking
or non smoking. Then be led to a table and asked your request.
We invented service , the last place in Southport as I recall
was the Park Hotel in Birkdale.
So landlords/Ladies I would suggest you have a notice at the door service
or no service. Don’t throw covid into the argument as most of the
establishments has increased prices under the pretext of suffering.
You’ve received copious amounts of money to stay afloat.
A lot people now look forward to table service.

Sadly table service in bars and its close cousin, a tab that you settle at the end of the night, both fall into the category of "nice things that we can't have because of the A*****es",
1. See above
2. A pint at your seat in a football ground
3. A drink on the train if there is a hint of football supporters being on it
4. A seat in the ground based upon how much you are prepared for a good view, rather than who you "support"
I'm sure there are many others
