Please be careful.........Sinkhole appearing in Haig Avenue
There is a large sinkhole appearing between the junction of Beatty Road and the Football Stadium in Haig Avenue,so please be aware if you intend driving down there, have reported it to the Sefton Highways dept, but how long it will take them to send someone out to check is anyone's guess...

The big delay will be from Untied Utilities because odds on it will be down to some substandard reinstatement works by them.

The authorities only resurfaced the road about 3 yrs ago...Probably caused by the heavy vehicles that use the route everyday as a short-cut through to the industrial estates.

Knowing Sefton Council, they’ll probably wait until Saturday before sticking up a set of three way temporary lights, to cause maximum traffic disruption for the football match.

Nope, Sink holes are caused by running water eroding under the road surface. Doesn't matter a monkeys what's going over the top.

The one on the corner of Norwood Rd and Butts Lane by the Thatch has opened up again. The council's answer is to stick a couple of traffic cones next to it.

Its still there and growing this morning.
Yes, heavy lorries don't cause sinkholes if they did the motorways would be full of them on the inside lane.
We need to open up Foul Lane for access to the Industrial Estates.

When I saw the thread title I thought it was a euphemism for the town's football club tumbling towards another relegation.
Though I suppose it could still yet double for that!
