Does anyone realise that Biden has a stammer?
Does anyone realise that an earpiece and cue cards have been used by presidents for decades?
My favourite Trump one ( out of so many) was him telling the press about the air force's invisible plane. When in fact it is undetectable to radar, but according to Trump it is INVISIBLE.
The body language of the accompanying officials was hilarious.

Hasn't Biden always spoken like that?

I have no clue if he has dementia or not, I'll defer to those experienced in the condition. But I've noticed he often whispers to make a point, rather than raise his voice. Maybe because his predecessor did little but bellow.

If he does have dementia, I guess the powers that be will do all they can to cover it until such a time Harris is ready to take the reigns. Even if he is suffering, I don't see them handing over to the VP while the nation, and world, is in the midst of an emergency. It would do little to assure anyone at home or overseas. Though I'd have thought they'd steer him toward pre-recorded video, rather than live Q&As.

While it makes little difference to us, as we won't be best friends of Harris any more than we are Biden, I'm sure she'll do a sterling job.

Watch the video I have linked to or pick your own Biden is struggling.

He wasn't very good when elected but he has got worse.

Trump is irrelevant to this he is a has-been.

Trump is still the same divisive, destructive prat he ever was and thanks to his MAGAMUG followers is still creating doubts for many people, the fact that he continues to scam these same mugs is incidental, but how this blatant con is allowed is beyond understanding.

As I said, neither was Trump. His incoherent ramblings were legendary. However, as you rightly say, he's White House history, for now anyway. He still governs the Republican Party from afar though. HRH King Donald of Mar-a-Lago!

The man is having genuine problems.
Unfortunately we all pay the price for living to an old age. The ability to think on our feet slows down, as does our recall, and sometimes finding the right words. None of these changes should automatically consign us to the dementia scrap heap.

Anecdotal I know, but sometimes when talking to me, my dear old nan would rhyme off the names of all of her grandchildren before she got to the right one. She was in her late 70s then, and lived to be 94. She was still able to look after herself, lived in her own house and had all of her marbles.

Back to Joe. Yes, there's a marked change in his delivery. As a younger man he was a strong speaker, although he was always one for making mistakes. As he's aged the tone of his voice has changed a lot. His speaking style is disjointed. He now struggles to find his words and train of thought. Some of this might be due to his stutter. It takes a concerted effort to overcome, and as an elderly man it must take its toll on him. What we once did so easily can become so very hard.

I'm not qualified to make a diagnosis, neither are any one of us here. All I can say is that his speech has deteriorated. His policies and actually doing the job appears to be sound. It's probably the most difficult and stressful job in the world. Younger men struggle, and walk away looking like their fathers! Why anyone in their mid to late 70s would want the job is beyond me. And why there isn't an age limit placed on the position is also beyond me.

I like Kamala Harris, but she's a long way off being ready to run the country. Biden chose her to check the boxes on a certain demographic's laundry list.

My nan when referring to one of her grandchildren usually started to reel off our various pets names before actually getting to ours . She lived to 92, often referring to her fellow residents of the care home she was in as "old dears" many younger than she was .

I do not mean in appearance.

I agree on Kamala Harris and expect her supporting role will be greater than her predecessors prepare her for the future.

    Funny how the elderly vary.
My mother tells me the same core story the details and people vary.
One has to stay sharp to identify the point.

Mother in law on the other hand go's on loop.
Not a single detail varies or her disarming ability to tell it as if it was the first time.

Would be interesting to know who primes Joe up for his day.

No she isn't ready but maybe she will ride the learning curve well and shine.

There are many people of Joe's age who are much more with it.

Still if we are honest about it the symptoms were all there before he was elected and the last President was still beaten by him.

It is to be hoped that Joe and his supporters accept his struggle and he steps aside with grace content in the knowledge he achieved his lifetime ambition.

I go through about 4 names before I get to the right one now, and I'm still in my 50s. I've got no chance
