i think you’ll find that that lorry drivers are a lot more professional than that.

Hardly typical.
Just as the Porsche driver who beeped his horn and told me to eff off in Ainsdsle last week while I was riding my bike no more than 2 foot from the kerb is not a typical driver.

I disagree, many cyclists out there, particularly the Lycra clad ones are extremely aggressive. I treat all cyclists with respect, always leave a fall off gap, only pass them when it’s safe to do so, etc., but the number that shout obscenities at me or put up a finger is quite staggering. The roads are for everyone to use, and all those that do, should treat others with the same respect that they themselves expect.

You must be very unlucky because in 30 years of driving I've never received abuse from a cyclist.
If you drive as you say you do what are they giving you abuse for? This doesn't sound typical to me.

The problem at the start was the bike was on the inside of the car and although both were turning left I think the bike chap thought he should be in front and cut it a bit close, like I have mentioned before ON THE INSIDE OF A CAR WHEN IT IS TURNING OR VEERING LEFT is not the place for a cycle to be, the other AWARE driver saved the cyclist running into a wagon or going too close to it for safety by cutting him off . He was aggressive and it’s only a matter of time before he gets involved in an accident riding like that, I think a lot of drivers would stop and punch riders like this if it wasn’t for being accused of road rage and loosing their licence.

We cycled over 40 miles around the Wirral circular route today.
I never knew what a lovely area it covered.

Drivers as always careful and polite even when I made a mistake my apology was accepted graciously.

Yes, that Wirral rail-trail is ok - as is the ice cream shop on the seafront overlooking the Dee estuary.

No need to, it is what it is - the not unfamiliar result of an infrastructure that throws bikes in with motor traffic.

It was so busy on the coastal stretch we peddled on.
Lovely to see children out enjoying the weather.
