So many top athletes have dips in form, keeping at the top is hard work.
That now is classed differently.
Classing it as a mental health issue is a kick in the face for some real-world sufferers.
Biles was sat quite happily watching today whereas those really struggling will be still having a bad time.

Supposedly, Biles is one of four siblings. She is very much like her sister Adria whose mother is Nellie Biles. It is claimed that Biles was adopted when she was six years old - she was born in 1997 and all four children were adopted in 2000. My math may be poor but that makes her just three years old when she was supposedly adopted, I think. In which case she would not recall going without food and poor treatment etc.,
Her 'adoptive' parent Ron coached Adria in gymnastics when the child was nine years old. But started coaching Simone two years later. Although old enough, Simone was not entered for the 2012 Olympics.
When under huge pressure in Tokyo competitions, her performance was poor and she sought the help of a psychiatrist. Sometime during her career, Simone was diagnosed with ADHD and was prescribed Ritilin, which is a banned drug for athletes, but Simone was excused its use due to her condition.
It is thought the pressure of the USA, stems from a fabrication of her lifestyle which is difficult for anyone to maintain for long. Simone's Mother is at present on probation and has been charged over the years with, theft, DUI and assault. Her older sister, by five years, is also on probation charged with similar offences. Her brother, three years older than Simone has just been released, with the efforts of a very expensive barrister - after having been suspected and charged with a triple murder. Her sister an ex gymnast is now training to be a dental hygienist. Lots of history there.
Very little if any of that, has any relevance to the current situation, the fact remains she has in the past competed and won at the highest level for many years, whatever has happened now can not, must not detract from her achievements.

She has been a fantastic athlete of the highest calibre.
Clouding that history does no one any favours.

It is claimed that an Olympics Doctor was charged with sexual assault after 250 athletes complained. They allegedly received a pay out. There is no mention that Biles received anything.

She's young, successful and black. Get over it.

In some ways, you have to admire Biles even more if the stories are true.
To get through that lot and win so convincingly is quite a feat.
You can't tell porkies in the gym, her performance is all there for us to see.
If she just said I'm just not at the top of my game.

Putting myself in her shoes (after feeling as she stated) the only thought that would stop me pushing on is the fear of failure and letting teams mates down.
Then to go one thought further (as the German team made a statement in body suits) 'I am in control of my body and soul no abuser or sports movement or Country' is good.

You make a good point about the clothes women wear. The beach volleyball team were fined for not wearing bikini bottoms, quite unfairly IMO. It's always been at the back of my mind that many of the sports women wear quite sexualised outfits. I know I am probably a bit of a prude when it comes to this, It goes back to my childhood when I was mortally offended by the high cut legs of the Tiller girls costumes. The gymnasts leotards are particularly disconcerting.... sometimes you don't know where to look!. It's not that they don't look great but I often wondered who the outfits were for. It seemed to me it was more for oglers than anything else. I haven't watched a lot of the Olympics but there was at least one gymnast who wore a full body suit and she looked great. (could have been the Germans as stated above). I hope women take more of a stand over this and get to wear what they want, whatever that is.

As far as I am concerned, athletes should be able to wear what they want providing it does not give them an unfair advantage over their fellow competitors and clearly shows which nation or club etc that they represent. If they wanted to wear a gorilla suit (for some unfathomable reason, let them do so. They would only have themselves to blame when they came in bottom of the rankings). I can't see how wearing lycra shorts in beach volley-ball gives them any sort of advantage over a bikini bottom, so why not allow it?

The highest level is the Olympics, fr which she has gained three gold medals and one bronze. Most of her medals have been won In the World event. She is very good, not the highest - but deserving of her medals. For a gymnast she has now reached retiring age. Nadia Comaneci set an extremely high standard of gymnastics that is unsurpassed today.

She is young, successful and black as you say and deserves the medals she has achieved. But it does her no good that she has accused the judges of not being allowed to award her the highest marks that she feels she is worthy of. Biles will never achieve the extremely high standards of Nadia Com?neci and especially now she is about to retire from gymnastics.
I don't have to get over anything - I am a keen fan of gymnastics.

You cannot compare athletes from different eras coaching, fitness, equipment, environment and judging is all very different.
Nadia Comaneci was full of drugs.

I think it is the positions rather than the clothes.
Some women believe the clothes sexualise them though I still believe women's gymnastics will be the best erotica available to watch in the same room as a consenting female!
