Does anyone remember
Does anyone remember the Morse Code? Did you learn it? Have you ever used it?
Or did you learn semaphore? Did you use it ever?
Is there any use for this type of communication today?

I learned Braille when my son lost his sight at the age of 18.
We did semaphore at girl guides

This type of communication is what everything is now moving to, it is digital.

I learned semaphore in Brownies but can honestly say that, apart from seeing it in a few films and trying to decipher it, I have never had the need for it.
My childhood education seemed to consist of useless things like identifying trees and clouds. Funnily enough they have come in useful much later in life and I still remember them from primary school. Maybe I should invent a form of code using these shapes....

I was taught it in the army but never actually had cause to use it. I've long since forgotten it I'm afraid

There is still a use though - when you are lost or injured in a mountainous area and cannot get a signal on your phone. you could use morse code with a mirror or if you lost your phone while in trouble on open seas and a boat was in the distance.

Dipped into the world of Amateur Radio in the late 70’s early 80’s and morse code was part of the examination, but it was dropped around 20 years ago.

My father taught us Morse code as children.
We went off it after being grounded for writing S.O.S in the sand on a deserted beach in the middle of winter.
