Don't give a monkeys what variety of trees you grow, we would still cut them down for fuel alone, a hell of a lot quicker than you can grow them.
We most certainly need to preserve and even increase woodland, but your pipe dream doesn't come close, never has done and never will do.
You may be right....But the point I'm making, is not that the world could grow enough trees. But that had it been possible to use sustainably grown trees instead of fossil-fuels - there would be a lot less CO2 in the atmosphere. I.e. trees grown as fuel (provided they are continuously replanted) don't raise the atmospheric CO2 level.

The average householder certainly won’t know and the firms who do cavity wall insulation are only interested in doing the work.
The protesters are total idiots, sure we know of their existence but certainly not advancing their cause, quite the reverse in fact creating hostility is not a good idea when trying to promote anything.
Certain houses are impractical for cavity wall insulation - i.e. Duke Street where The Nile runs underground, the houses retain a certain level of damp and it would cost a lot of money to correct it before having insulation installed. There are other streets where Jayne's Brook tributaries flow too.
I have to have my windows and doors open most of the time - so really defeating the idea of insulation.

Probably on a regular basis...............

Insulate Britain (why don't they) upped their protests today to a blockage of the motorway itself.
Putting both themselves and others at great risk.
They get arrested processed and are ready to go again.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the inevitable deaths arrive.
Natalie Bennett ex green party leader was indifferent to people's sufferings during an interview yesterday.
I would have so much more respect for them if they actually did something constructive.

Moved from the M25 to the Port of Dover this morning, doing very little to gain the support of the people.

Protesting about pollution by causing more pollution does seem counterintuitive.

The cause is worthy, if fanciful. The tactics aren't.
Protests are fine. Marches are fine. Even inconveniencing people to get the point across. But not endangering people. Not endangering life.
If they aren't clever enough to figure out how to highlight their cause whilst keeping away from routes to hospitals, or allowing essential services, they'll get no support from the public.
And as Local says, having CO pumped into the air while they are doing it? Just idiots.

Agree.....Insulation is a vital element when it comes to saving the planet. Works on the principle of: 'a penny saved is a penny earned', a principle to which I very much subscribe.
Cavity wall insulation for example, provided it's done right and with the right materials, is a no-brainer.....However, there are some (usually older) properties that have no cavity. In these cases, there is the option of cladding the entire exterior with a good fire-rated insulation.

The energy companies paid for the cavity wall and loft insulation of many thousands of customers' homes at the behest of the government earlier in the century. Seems to have taken these protestors a long time to catch up....

Possibly true but if you left those trees alone and planted more trees, it should lower the CO2 level.

Yes, but I'd either freeze in Winter, or switch to gas - which would raise the CO2 level.
