Don't panic, don't panic
Why on earth do governments and retailers etc tell people not to panic when there is a shortage of something ? Don't they realize that this has exactly the opposite effect and that the mindless population will do precisely that and rush out to buy something! I think I'll start a rumour that there is a shortage of drain cleaner just to see what happens
On the other hand, maybe it's all a scam by the retailers to get people to buy something ?

It is a scam by some retailers, one of the more vocal ones is Iceland who keep saying that Christmas will be ok and there is plenty of stock, they wouldn't by any chance trying to get people into their stores to buy up last years turkeys would they?

I saw this petrol/fuel crisis as breaking news around 2pm yesterday and thought ooh should I get some just in case?, then I thought nah I’ve just put £20 in yesterday and I don’t go so far anymore and also I gathered that it wasn’t down to lack of fuel rather lack of transportation and I never was one for panicking anyway . But later in the day after 5 pm I went past Tesco’s and the queues had already started backing up.

Garlic, red, green and yellow peppers, Anchovies, Artichokes, balsamic vinegar, are all like gold dust at the moment I urge you all to go out and buy up the supplies because I can't stand the bleeding lot of them.

I have always said that the best way to get some people to be vaccinated is to forbid them from doing so. Same with panic buying. Tell them it's now or never and they'll resist just to prove a point.

I work in an independent garage, I arrived at 06:45 this morning to find a queue already, we don't open until 7am.
It has been constant queuing all day, with no let up when I finished at 2pm.
I've heard every excuse, I'm just topping up as I might need it, I'm a regular and we shouldn't serve anyone else!
A couple of arguments as people fill their car then get jerry can out of the boot and start filling them.

If I stand on the stack of toilet rolls in our bathroom I can just see if there is a queue at my local petrol station.
