A Qlocal reader sent in this dashcam video of a close call on the Coast Road today.
Who on earth overtakes on a bend on the coast road when they have no chance of seeing any aproaching traffic? Well this idiot did !

Absolutely terrifying. Had a similar incident happen to me on the stretch of road a couple of years ago. Apart from being shaken up, hope you’re all ok.

Has happened to me when I checked the dashcam to send it to the Police my dashcam had gone kaput it wasn't saving the films.
Last week took the wife for a drive in the Trough of Bowland the number of drivers that came around blind bends on narrow lanes at speed was unbelievable Brainless *******s is the only way to describe them. The only way they are going to learn is confronted by a Combine Harvester.

Take the footage to the Police, they will take action.

There seems to be a growing number of motorists, who get irate when stuck behind someone keeping to a speed limit. E.g. last week going through Halsall village (30mph part) heading towards Maghull. I had an impatient guy sat on my tail right the way through, who recklessly pulled out, accelerated and overtook me at speed about 100m before we entered the 40mph stretch....giving me a long angry blast on his horn as he did so - duh!

He must have been in a very high powered vehicle to pass you ‘at speed’,…….or what is more likely is that you are posting more of your utter rubbish, in another attempt at demonising every road user who dares to take to four wheels or more, duh.

With the higher (40mph) speed limit looming ahead, he pulled out from my slipstream about 200m before the 40mph part, accelerating as he did so. He was level with me and hit the horn about 100m before the 40mph part. Perhaps he'd thought I'd kept religiously to 30mph just to annoy him, rather than the 35mph that many travel at. I'd guess he must have attained 40mph by the time he entered the 40mph part.
What the guy perhaps didn't realise, was that New Street in Halsall is a favourite location for police speed-traps, which was motivation enough for me to resist his 'pushing'. The police have been known to position themselves there right before the 40mph part, in the mouth of a farm track on the left, nicely shielded by a hedge. I myself didn't begin to accelerate till I'd actually entered the 40mph part. Btw, once ahead he obviously didn't keep to 40mph, because his car vanished up the road ahead pretty quick!

I had a similar problem following an accident, the footage was unreadable with the manufacturers software, I contacted them (Nextbase) and they said there was a file missing from the memory card, checked my other vehicle and that is the same, both were installed as per instructions.
