Project Fear - duh!
Well, Brexiters were warned time-and-again by the remain side, of what lay ahead if we left the EU....Shortages of products, shortages of workers, etc.
Now that the Brexit chickens (turkeys) are coming home to roost, leavers are casting about for any lame excuse. E.g., it's Covid to blame. Better try again, because Covid is in Holland, Germany etc, too. However, you won't find many EU shelves half-empty, or their motorists stranded without fuel and unable to get to work!

Never mind, all is not lost, at least we still have the bilateral trade deal with the US that should be the jewel in the post-Brexit British crown to look forward to.
Oh wait…….

As far as the more rabid Brexiteers are concerned, it will all be down to covid, or the pesky, EU being awkward, difficult or obstructive, couldn't possibly be due to Brexit and the "superb" deal negotiated by Johnson.
Covid was unexpected, but everything was known about, warned about, but of course "freedom" was the watchword, looking more and more like freedom to sink in the morass of our own making.

Europe as a whole, not just the UK, is suffering from high energy prices, especially gas.

Can they fill the shelves with sovereignty? Australian produce that's been bobbing on a boat for weeks? Will begging Bolsonaro bring beautiful bronze birds for Yuletide?
Brexit was and is (as it isn't over yet) economically impossible to deliver.
A complete farce from start to finish. Well, depending whose side you're on.
For environmentalists, it's a disaster. For David Cameron, terrified of 5 UKIP candidates becoming MPs back in 2015, it's not so bad. Job done.
For 5000 visa holders who can come in to drive lorries and pluck turkeys, then get out by Christmas Eve, it's probably hysterically funny and unless we pay them gazillions, it's a non-starter.
For paramilitary types just chomping at the Semtex for a return to the Troubles, it's looking positive.
For disaster capitalists, billionaires, anyone who might be interested in an unregulated tax haven, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. But they were always going to be the beneficiaries. That was always the plan.
Putin's probably having a bit of a giggle, in a sinister, shirtless way.
For us? Well the 'pros' can be written on the back of a stamp, and it consists of bald ham types writing 'wage rises'. Few have seen them, even lorry drivers. The list of 'cons' are longer than the withdrawal agreement. We can go through it for the benefit of Brexiteers, but they know, even if 6 years of crowing 'we won' has made them look, well, let's say 'unwise'.
There's a solution. Join the Single Market and Customs Union.
Problem solved, and we'll try to never talk of it again.

But Centrica have big stakes in fracking companies, so...

So, another few thousand refugees are being brought to the UK? "Welcome all you Afghanistans, enjoy your stay here. Sorry there is no food for you, we have enough mouths to feed" Sort of conflicts with popular claims doesn't it?

After fading into the background the former Chancellor's successors are perhaps not as keen on remaining in the EU as she was. German people don't like being pushed around by anyone. The French think they can do anything they want (except defend themselves obviously) and the Little General is sabre rattling and making demands and threats over OUR territorial waters and our far superior nuclear (sorry GW Bush newkiller) submarines with the ability to go forwards faster than French subs can go backwards.

I wonder... will we have to wait for a generation to die before we stop hearing that Brexit is to blame for everything?
I notice that BBC desperately asking every contributor to discussions on almost any subject 'Is it caused by/made worse by/ the result of Brexit?' The usual answer is that it is a factor but not the only one.
So, will remoaners ever accept that Brexit is a thing that is here to stay and that they would rather see the country fail than admit it?
Asking for a friend.

Brexit hasn't happened yet, we are yet to implement the rule changes on what we import so the worst is yet to come. I think every day that passes is a day closer rejoining, on what terms and when I've no idea.

But the country is failing! We’re just bitter about all the lies that where used to sell the hare brained scheme.

I'd say it's a case of Brexiteers would rather see the country fail than admit it is economic suicide.
And it is failing. From shortages, environmental concerns, energy prices, the Good Friday Agreement, no Northern Ireland border, etc etc. The list is growing ever longer and it is damning. The 'Leave' campaign promises shattered. Our government is going for the hardest Brexit possible. There's nothing remainers can do about it. There's nothing Brexiteers can do, apart from own it.
Wasn't 'Yellowhammer' supposed to be a worst case scenario, not a manual?

Brexit is nowhere near done, certainly we have tied our hands behind our back after cutting off our noses just to spite our face.
Brexit was, is and will continue to be an absolute farce, guit the EU sure, but do it from strength not just to satisfy a bunch of shouty, nationalistic, unthinking, self serving, political opportunists.
