By the time we had been married for about 15 years he admitted that he had been having numerous "relationships".
That is when he really changed and the violence started, black eyes, punches etc.
I know that any man can be violent, but i do feel the the police service changed someone who was a pleasant man into a nasty man.
For the last 25 years i have enjoyed life being on my own, If i do see him, i am always very nice to him, but underneath i really hate him.
Sorry i have gone a bit
Sorry to hear of your experience Chris, but you can hold your head up with pride for the person you are today .

Just horrendous. Beyond sickening.
But worst of all, not surprising. I wouldn't know where to begin to stamp this out. But surely it has to be.

We cannot change this problem without getting to its core and thats men and women who tolerate bad behaviour in others or ignore it because "its not my problem" it is.
You got that wrong, for sure! People today are segregated into certain groups and each group is made to believe that they are the victims, and so have reason to blame everyone else but themselves. This takes away a 'victims' power to resolve matters on a personal level. Take away a person's power is to take away their pride, and they become the serfs to all others. They lose all their self respect. It is morally emaciating people. There are now so many in society who believe nothing is their problem, because they have been made into perpetual victims - severely lacking in self worth.
Some such groups are:
Men - because in today's world, women are better
LGBT groups - who blame everyone else.
Black people - because their ancestors were slaves
Irish people - due to their connections with travellers
Young people - bored because they have been ignored.
Illegal drug users - also ignored because they have brought their ills on themselves
Dog owners - because some dog owners are anti social.
Cat owners - because they do not control their animals
Over weight people - because they are aid to be lazy and irresponsible.
British people - too lazy
Muslims - because they are responsible for terrorism.
Etc.,etc., soon to include everybody, so people will become subservient to their masters.

I can't put Sarah in a group where it's her fault from anything I have heard.
Why should she have lived think she had to blame herself for anything Couzens did?
We all have to take responsibility for the treatment of women like her the perpetrators are brothers, sons, workmates etc

We're talking about police misogyny and violence against women and girls.
Sarah Everard couldn't 'resolve matters on a personal level'.
The OP wasn't a 'perpetual victim'.
The horrendous crimes against female officers that H related has nothing to do with 'groups' or 'pride'. It is sickening misogyny. They aren't 'perpetual victims', they are simply victims.
If their self worth was shattered, it was by institutionalised misogyny.
But you, as always when anyone is the victim of anything at all, witter on about 'power' and blaming everyone else. No women mentioned on this thread should blame themselves. The blame lies solely at these men who are ether threatened by women, or have some deficiency in their own make up.
As the saying goes, stay in your lane. You've no business commenting on something when ********s like you are part of the problem. Everyone on here remembers your 'sewing a woman's mouth shut' fantasy.
STFU.
