Posted on twitter this morning, October 6th by relative Audie Barnes @audiebarnes
My 86 year old mother in law fell over the dangerous bases left on Hoghton Street, Friday. She was rushed to hospital with her nose broken in three places amongst other injuries. She now requires surgery.
Sefton Council replied on twitter:
Hi, We are sorry to hear about your mother in law and we wish her a speedy re
covery. If you need to make an insurance claim please email
insurance@sefton.gov.uk.
The post on twitter (link below) shows the poor lady after the trip face down on Hoghton Street and a close up of her facial injuries.
Qlocal have asked permission to repost the photographs but they prefer that these images are not shown and respected.

It was only a matter of time I'm afraid. Hope she pursues it with a good solicitor

Bootle Councillors should be ashamed of themselves for installing dangerous furniture which has caused serious injury to two elderly residents within the space of a few days.

So sorry to see the elderly lady getting injured. I hopes he makes a quick recovery.
I await with baited breath to see what our resident cycling expert has to say.

The original poster of this report on twitter would respectfully ask that any specific pictures and not used elsewhere on social media / news reports.

So why post them in the first place?

Pictures were NOT / NEVER posted on qlocal of the lady, we asked for permission but respected that they did not want them posted elsewhere.

They posted them on Twitter so the pics are going to get shared all over the internet. If they dont want people to see the pics why post them in the first place?
This is sad hope the lady recovers soon

Pictures on twitter are still subject to copyright and cannot be used without permission. Suggest you remove them with respect.

If the social media user has published in the first instance to the public web (rather than to a select group of followers) it cannot be said to be a breach of privacy.

Can you use pictures from social media without permission?
If you want to use an image that isn't yours you must obtain permission to use it—whether through a license or the creator directly. ... When someone shares an image on a public account, that doesn't make it public domain. They still own the copyright.

We asked for permission of a police car crash photo on social media recently and reply was - you are the third person to ask: Liverpool Echo, OTS, now Qlocal.
We are closing this thread as this conversation is not applicable to the lady who had the accident.
