To Be Quite Honest
Be honest with yourselves. When you have had to go to the Doctors with some ailment, and you are prescribed some remedy or other - how many of you have suffered side effects?
I have in the past been prescribed various remedies, most of which cause side effects that are far more unacceptable than the original ailment. So obviously, I rarely go to a Doctors.
Bear this in mind. Oxycontin was widely advertised as being by far superior to any other pain killer. Completely safe and non addictive. Doctors and Scientists were being paid a lot of big bucks to promote this miracle pain killer. It had been tested and passed the examining boards as safe for the public to use. The publicity given to this 'remedy' was immense. So people in their thousands, especially in the USA started taking it for even the slightest headache. But they could not stop! Worse still, thousands of people died from it.
Oxycontin was created by members of one family - they own phamaceutical companies worldwide, including in the UK. They knew that the drug contained opiates, they knew it was addictive with many side effects - but they convinced Doctors, Health Practitioners and all.
Yes, the company have been fined $Billions - they have even gone bankrupt. But they made sure that any legal action taken against them, did not touch their personal wealth, further protection they organised means they will not receive any sentences either.
As far as I am concerned - the most effective medication are those used for years, based on natural products. Heart medication based on digitalis from plants, Aspirin which is natural, Antibiotics and even opium based Morphine when in dire need.
Should we be more concerned about pharmaceuticals?

Never, honestly.
Though I have rarely needed a doctor or a prescription and have never spent a night in hospital in my 53 years.

All medications, natural or manufactured can have a reaction, must admit those who claim bad reactions from routine medications tend to be hopeless hypochondriacs.
If the medication is worse than the illness, then clearly the medication wasn’t needed in the first place.

I firmly believe anyone who says the word honestly is fabricating the truth, it’s a giveaway,, a tell word, if you dont believe me try it for yourself listen for it in everyday life if they say honestly to you… they are lying .

Many of us suffer unpleasant side effects simply by reading some of the piffle you write. It's becoming increasingly difficult to understand why we continue to do it.
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

All the go to things you mention have side effects sometimes significant
Aspirin.
COMMON side effects
conditions of excess stomach acid secretion.
irritation of the stomach or intestines.
nausea.
vomiting.

These are symptoms of digitalis toxicity:

Vision changes (unusual), including blind spots, blurred vision, changes in how colors look, or seeing spots.
Simple C&P's from the dreaded net.

Illusory superiority.
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

It's nearly as odd as our number one user of bad and divisive language starting a thread complaining about presumably themselves.
