So - on to the future
Now on the market is a tiny electric car whose top speed is just 28mpg, that a fourteen year old can drive without a full licence. Imagine trying to get around town with cycles, disability scooters and cars driven by school kids that are little more than golf buggy's.
Soon there will be an end to second hand car dealerships, with lots more road space that they now use, freed up for parking, more land for longer gardens, as back alley dealerships close down.
Cyclists and pedestrians in more danger as these silent vehicles creep up on you, and more jams on the roads as children drive to school to park in the cycle sheds. Queues lining up for electric chargers, etc.,
How do you see the future for road users?

Yes, it's a funny old World......E.g. yesterday it rained, but instead of everyone taking to their cars to keep dry, the roads fell quiet. Whereas today was nice and sunny, ideal for going by foot or bike, yet counter-intuitively the roads were far busier!

Also the Russian built military motorcycle that can be fully submerged in water the Milandr 250 - exciting times! I would like try all these out.
By the way - did you know that although the electric vehicles are supposed to be better than fossil fuelled cars in flooded regions but if they experience salt water conditions they could quite well explode?

i have for many years now felt that our town lends itself to a internal transport system ,that uses a electris train like buggy trailer train that buzzes round our main routes picking up and dropping off shoppers within a radius of the center on regquest with a set fee for all, constantly within hours f shopping.up down lord st eastbank to kew park n ride birkdale .easy acess no parking no congestion ,just constant flow of population to shopping destinations.only a thought!

Could be a plan.....Or perhaps a vintage Victorian electric tram, running on a loop-line around the town centre. I'm sure it would be popular, particularly with visitors, and with frequent stops also very handy for shoppers.

I presume that the Park 'n Ride facility, which has been in operation for many years (in fact Southport invented the idea in the 1950s or 1960s) has somehow passed you by?
There was another bus route scheme that went from, IIRC, to/from Ocean Plaza to Central 12, but seems to have died the death some time ago through lack of support.

Are you, perhaps, thinking of the long standing Park 'n Ride facility?
Thought not.
