Well primarily the virus but after that how does Johnson suddenly become a capable virologist on election.
He follows his advisers.
I am often accused of being an unwavering Johnson fan but I wouldn't think him capable of applying a plaster.

You choose the advice you follow. That's why it's called advice. He chose to follow the advice to sacrifice thousands of lives on the altar of free trade.

But it is he who chooses which advisors to follow, every sector will have totally different advice to the next, it is he who makes the decision and he who has to take ownership of it and the responsibility.

Imagine if the totally unqualified Johnson decided to ignore them and come up with his own ideas we would all be quoting Latin incantations.
As to the "altar of free trade" that's straight from some political cranks cookbook.
If that was his belief we would all be speaking Swedish.

Isn't Johnson a big fan of Pericles? He only had to look to the plague in 5th century bce Athens that killed his hero. If a disease kills people the only way herd immunity can be achieved is to allow vast numbers of people to die. Even a Classicist could work that one out.
The only crank here is Johnson who is prepared to let thousands die just so long as his rich friends carry on getting richer.

The horrible reality is the blame rests with an NHS without an adequate testing ability, people were sent home because tests weren't available.
So older people were sent back to a supposed place of safety with a legal requirement to deal with infection control but they were poorly controlled.
We have as a nation dodged so many infections from around the world we were complacent.
Which thing should we have prepared for and which next?
Blaming Johnson is somewhat odd.
Previous administrations and definitely anything Johnson fails to do for the future but how you blame him for historic failings I don't think is rational.
Johnson is already racking up things where blame can be laid at his shoulders why undermine them with things he will be cleared of.
Its Trump all over again he was blamed for so much it provided a smokescreen for what he did fail at.
The "Orange Mist" has helped him keep a large fan base he doesn't deserve.
Johnson will be benefitting from a blonde mist at this rate.

Going back to the original reason for my post I asked people to read Michael Rosen's post before they next vote. You have now read it. How will you be voting?

He shot himself in the foot with both Brexit and Liz Truss, then.
The first has strangled trade with half a billion people on our doorstep in favour of the genius idea of dealing with the other side of the globe. The second is a buffoon who thinks she can sell cheese to the lactose intolerant.
BTW, 'Local' cannot blame his beloved Boris for anything at all. If there was a photo of him actually injecting Covid into the arms of care home residents, he'd say he knows nothing about vaccinations, the last several governments are to blame, and he was just trying to help them. A bit like Johnson's 'there's no media here' bull.
Now he's blaming the 'Hard WorkingTM' NHS for not having tests. There were over 530,000 tests carried out in the UK by 20 April, yet the government couldn’t prioritise tests for 25,000 people discharged from hospitals to care homes. Despite being weeks behind Italy and Spain, and seeing what was happening there.
Never Blame Boris. Not ever.
