We have different sectors getting disproportionate pay rises, recently it's been HGV drivers. We are getting the minimum wage raised by over 6% that's double inflation. These things all have a knock on effect. Everything goes up and people are no better off, but those on fixed income are worse off.
Short term gain for a long term loss, with a lot of disruption in-between.
He who shouts loudest and or has the right levers gets the pay-rises.
At least some are getting better pay and this will have a knock on effect.
Other than a prices and income policies which has never worked what do we do?

The buses used to run all over the place, even Queens Rd doesn't have a bus service running down there anymore I don't think. Mind you, I've not been that far up in town in recent times.
The 46 service runs between Russell Road and Carr Lane (including Queen's Road and Eastbourne Road), Kew has the 44 service (plus the 300, 375 and 385 on SNR) and Ainsdale has the 49 going through the village to Woodvale, plus the 47 and Stagecoach X2 on Liverpool Road and Liverpool Avenue.

The 46 doesn’t go down Queens Rd. The only Arriva bus that serves this road is the 44.

That's correct - I edited the comment (I'd started with the 44 actually going down Queen's Road, along with a similar comment earlier).
Some 98 per cent of the time I use the 49 and have done for decades, but occasionally use other bus services depending on the destination.

The 44 and other buses
The only time I really use the 44 or 46 is if I'm going to Asda or Tesco, I haven't been to neither for a long while though. I haven't been further than Hoghton St on a 44 for ages and regularly use the 46 at least twice a week but I catch the 49 or X2 on a regular basis.
Catching the Clive Rd bus was a one off because it was a nice day, I wouldn't jump on if it was raining.
I heard about the Queens Rd incident by the way, I've just seen the photo above and what the hell is a no entry sign doing slap bang in the middle? That must make life a bit difficult.

The sign is mounted in the central refuge, there is another on the left hand side

Buses
It appears that Cumfybus and Stagecoach are running a normal service so it's not all doom and gloom.
