After so much uncertainty lately regarding the Thatch & Thistle a new light has been shone on the establishment, and that new light is Vici Bradshaw and her team using their expertise. Vici has a successful establishment already under her belt; that being the Woollen Pig .
Vici & the team now want to bring this expertise and customer satisfaction that has made Woollen Pig so popular to the Thatch & Thistle.
Vici said “It’s a challenge but a challenge we are ready for! Our team are motivated and ready to release new light and energy with customer satisfaction at the forefront”
Vici informed Friends of Southport that they pick up the Keys at 1pm today and then it’s “all stations go”
“we have a lot of hard work ahead of us” says Vicki “ but we feel the establishment deserves it and most of all the local residents deserve only the best from this fine building.”
Founder of Friends Of Southport Blake Maynard said “I feel the Thatch & Thistle is a centrepiece for all Bars & Restaurants and under no circumstances should this establishment be allowed to fail”
“The establishment stands with pride from the thatched roof down to the quaint building that invites and draws you in. This is not just a bar & restaurant this is what I deem a landmark, being the only thatched building in the Blowick area and beauty in the area must be kept alive.”
Friends of Southport fully support Vici with this endeavour and can’t wait to see the progression of this establishment. Many Congratulations to Vicki and her team and we wish you every success for this iconic building which represents a part of Southport’s history.

Going by their prices in the Woollen Pig,there will hardly be anyone buying an iced coffee after a meal ? Priced at £3.50 to £4.95 according to the web page....But good luck to them, and hoping the cooked meals are as good as they used to be at The Thatch.

I wish them all the luck, and hope they make a success of it, but, iconic building? It was only built in the 1990's replacing the ICONIC Blowick Pub!

The whole area smells of bad drains and has done so for years, I am surprised anyone can eat their dinner or sit outside in such a smell .

Well judging by how many people comment on FB just how good the Woollen Pig is as a drinking and eating establishment, you do surprise me.

Plenty of rooms for bikes, especially down Queens Rd and Hoghton Street,as no bloody cars can park anywhere now...
