The Saga of Sefton Cycle Lanes
It is a laugh a minute with these highly controversial lanes:
'At the council committee meeting, the question was asked as to what ambulances should do if they needed to access a house on Preston New Road once the bollards are installed.
Council officers stated that if an ambulance needed to attend to a house, they should either pull alongside the bollards (and block the lane of traffic), or if an emergency 'should run the bollards over'.

Or just pull into the space for the driveway which obviously won't be blocked by bolloards.

If The PNP didn't contribute, it would last two or three posts and fade away.

Likewise, if a handful of petrolheads on here didn't keep opposing the notion of encouraging more residents to cycle, by creating safer cycle infrastructure.....

They don't oppose it per se, merely the utterly obsessive and one-tracked views of an elderly cyclist forum member.

You know exactly what I mean and it's not what you mean in any way.

It is imposed on the Councils by Central Government, they have no options but to implement or else they lose funding.
