If not, then why do you think that someone would have to be mad to get in the car rather than board a train?...

In fact, the pandemic never finished. You should have read or heard something about the latest deadly wave in Europe?
I think the fact that the majority of people are not wearing masks nor distancing should tell you something. Those who are still wearing masks are doing so for no reason.

Seems that these "liveable" neighbourhoods are already challenging the "living" description as in Greater Manchester roads that have been sabotaged are causing untold problems for Ambulances/ Fire engines/Police having to reverse back out to get in further past the blockades.
When someone dies in a house fire or a severe medical condition and help was unable to get directly to the address I hope all you common senseless disciples of the moron send your condolences.
Note the Council spokesman says it is false information yet it is on video and residents are complaining I wonder if his name is Trump.
Also you call an ambulance but it will not necessarily be a crew from the town/area involved as they are stretched to the limit.

I never said you would be mad to use the car rather than use the train.
Yes, I have returned to normal as far as possible, I have used many trains in the the last 6 months without any problems except breakdowns and staff shortages.

Sounds to me like their sat-nav provider is to blame, for failing to update their mapping of the area......When juggernauts get wedged down ancient country lanes, the lane is clearly not at fault - rather the silly sat-nav.

Myself, I tried a sat-nav, but soon consigned it to the office draw. Give me an A to Z of the County anyday. Streets that are blocked halfway along, are shown with a thin black line across them, indicating where the road is cut in two. Might be a plan for emergency services to also revert to an A to Z, until their sat-navs become more reliable.

When the last time there's been 'normal circumstances'?! February 2020?

Certainly no-one is 'mad' for deciding to favour commuting by car rather than going by the train commute. I don't question the rationality of anyone who favours jumping in the car rather than boarding a train to sit amongst a compartment of mainly maskless strangers.

You didn't say it but you agreed with it.

Omicron variant: Face coverings rules reimposed for shops and transport to slow spread, Boris Johnson says

Two cases of the Omicron Covid-19 variant have already been discovered in the UK, in Brentwood and Nottingham

UK experts believe the new variant – currently known by its scientific name B.1.1.529 – could reduce vaccine effectiveness to as little as 30 per cent and there are signs it is more transmissible than the currently dominant Delta strain.

Face masks back in shops and on public transport as UK battles 'worst ever Covid'

Face coverings will again be mandatory in shops and on public transport

The Government said as of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 39,567 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK.

The Government also said a further 131 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 144,724.

An A to Z even a new one could be several years out of date, if you're driving a car or smallish van Google Maps will suffice driving a truck will necessitate a specialist system or they'll end up sliding into ditches.

The moronic variant already has pills for the cure, so you should be OK with the influenza jab, the Covid jab and booster jab, and your pills. Not sure what will happen if you catch a cold though??

At end of day, these incidents shouldn't ever happen....Because any road divided into two cul-de-sacs, should have 'T' (cul-de-sac) signs at its entrance/s. The 'u'-turn in question, was made either because A) the 'T' signs were missing or B) the driver wasn't looking where they were going!

Don't you just love how considerate this new variant is? It's only going to transmit itself in stores and on public transport.
