Yes the facts of the day do seem to confuse so many, this was America of course there were guns because they can be bought from Walmart. Get yourself to a gunshow and you can come away with an assault rifle.
The actual fact that in a country with millions of them,
The U.S. Department of Justice has charged at least three people on gun charges stemming from the Jan. 6 riot, including one whom prosecutors said Metro police found carrying a loaded handgun with an extra magazine.
Shots fired ?
Grenades exploded?
Bombs?

And the funniest of the lot Trumps "Bunker" cheering them on.
He was taken into a bunker for under an hour as part of normal security procedures.
Aren't you getting a bit more of the orange mist?
Our rating: False
The claim that President Donald Trump and members of his family celebrated amid the Capitol riot is FALSE, based on our research. The monitors seen in the video and the song playing in the background indicate that the video was recorded before Trump's speech. Reporting from events of the day found the president was at the White House during the riot.

Nobody's laughing, but depressed that anyone can try to explain away a profoundly worrying development in a democracy.
The fact that they didn't succeed does not excuse the intention. It is more a manifestation of how anything Trump touches is defective.

WTF are you on about, Gullible Gerty?
Which vote? You surely remember which one when 'Vatican city voting numbers counted...'?
Voter fraud in this country is so miniscule as should be disregarded as nonsense. IIRC, in the last election there were 6 incidents of people going to polling stations who were not who they claimed to be. Out of how many millions?
Postal votes are exceptionally secure, unless someone counting votes is dodgy. In which case, it isn't voter fraud.
Making it harder to vote is just stripping the vote from poor and vulnerable people.

I'd be quite concerned if a group of people broke into Parliament, seemingly unopposed and attacked security. Then threatened the lives of elected officials.
Though I'd say we've been given far greater cause than that orange oaf ever did.
Then again, admiration of populists with bad hair isn't exactly anything new on here. There's the occasional half-hearted attempt to cover it but it always shines through.
The gullibility of the masses over the past 6 years or so is most concerning. Tribal morons who can't string logical thought together, as long as their tribe is victorious. They simply don't care, apparently.
Edited: I'd also add that anyone who supports Trump isn't likely to be too bright. I'm surprised the majority of the slack-jawed, gun wielding turds didn't shoot themselves in the feet long before they got to the Capitol building.
But just because they were too stupid to put together a useful attack (one group inside were distracted by a security guard in much the same way you get a dog to sit by distracting it with a treat), doesn't mean the intent wasn't there.
They were just too thick to do it properly.

People demonstrating or rioting if you like is not a profoundly worrying development in a democracy, they didn't "succeed" because they didn't try.
Be realistic an America that planned and wanted an "armed insurrection" as Nancy the idiot put it would have destroyed the building and left hundreds dead with just twenty of the armed crackpots.
Las Vegas Strip massacre (Las Vegas, NV, 2017) 58 dead 546 injured by Stephen Paddock.
Imagine twenty of him.

Nobody doubted that he was in the White House while the riot occurred.
He had done enough getting them started, far be it for him to have the courage to see it through. Witnesses have talked about how he was spellbound by what he could see on TV and excited that he thought he might succeed.
What remarkable behaviour from the one person who above all is supposed to be a champion of democracy and the US Constitution.

Are you for real, the attempted insurrection failed because those attempting it were mainly thick as pig s##t, just because they failed does not mean the intent wasn't there, remember thanks to Trump's rhetoric and lies a good number of those thought they could delay or even overturn the certification of the election, but again too stupid to realise that the event was merely a constitutional formality, the election results had already been declared and certified.
As for Trump himself, remember the "I'll come with you to the Capitol Building" when what he actually did was scuttle of to the White House to watch the turmoil on TV, I don't believe Trump went anywhere else, he was certainly not hidden in some bunker, there are plenty of reports as to his activities while the insurrection went on and have no doubt as more and more acolytes and minions get hauled in for questioning, we will hear more.
As to the eventual outcomes, time will tell, but there are a lot of crooks and liars to interview as yet.

Yeah! Right. Vote rigging only goes in those backward countries! You are prime fodder for the Comedian Show.

There were groups of peaceful people who attended - but the 'riots' were acted out,

Now the mist is certainly out,
just exactly how bright does someone have be to carry and fire a gun ?
Saying they were too thick is stretching things, America has had some of the dumbest straw brains in human history shooting people with their "Asda" guns.
They didn't fail because they didn't try, why say they did its just Trump addled nonsense.

I really don't know whether to be amused or sad.
Your determination to defend the indefensible is remarkable.
They tried alright, and they haven't finished.
It was in fact just the latest in a series of truly evil incidents which included trying to kill the governor of one state and kidnap another.
Apparently democracy is fine, until it produces the wrong result...

You can be either if you like but I haven't defended "it" I have just pointed out "it" didn't happen.
There was no "armed insurrection" there was protest or demonstration call it what you like but in the land of the gun there was no "armed insurrection" or anything like it.
This land of barmy guns laws and often barmier owners did not go out to the capital.
In this mad environment, 106 people are shot and killed, 210 survive
gunshot injuries every day.

Who mentioned "armed insurrection" apart from you, but please don't try to say that the mob didn't try to storm the Capitol Building.
Yes the US has some crazy gun laws, but amongst them it is illegal for civilians to carry guns in Washington DC and anyone carrying weapons in that immediate vicinity is likely to be shot first and questioned later, even the numpties were aware that producing weapons at that building would provoke a more rapid and shall we say more vigorous response from the police.
In truth you and I both know that if that mob had been predominantly black, there would have been blood on the streets very early, but I suppose storming barricades, using climbing ropes to scale the building, battering police with flag poles, scaffolding poles, even their own weapons is just a peaceful protest, certainly there were some wandering round like twopennorth of god help me, but there was a hard core intent on preventing the normal process of government, all in the hope of reinstating their gangland boss.

Ms Pelosi said at the Capitol: “The president of the United States incited an armed insurrection against America.”
Except he didn't did he?
No wonder Trump gets every conspiracy theory crackpot there is, people keep making things up, they see it hear it and jump on board.
His more sensible supporters (the majority of them) see it to.
The mist descends and ostensibly intelligent people provide all the ammunition he needs to fire up Trump round two.
He should be consigned to his golf clubs boring people rigid, instead, the crazies are pushing him up again with their inventions.
