Hopefully this figure will be a lot less now as London has the highest Omicron rate.
Hopefully.
I wonder if that is partially because there are a greater number of ethnic minorities working in the NHS in London?
I've read a lot about minority leaders reaching out to their communities re the jab. Historically there are a few incidents that might make minorities suspicious of vaccinations, but you'd think NHS staff would know better.

So if 1% of 100000 people end up in hospital with Delta, that is 1000 patients. If 0.5% of 500000 people are hospitalised with Omicron, that is 2500 patients.
Even if hospitalisation ratios are lower, the high percentage of infections cancel that out.
It would be lovely to live in a La-la-land where it is nothing more dangerous than a common cold, but variations are coming thick and fast among unvaccinated. Until we're all vaccinated, it will keep coming back time after time.
The variants will keep coming & coming until the richer nations vaccinate the poorer nations, the boosters need to be in African arms not ours.

I am absolutely sure you are right. But getting SAGE to admit that is another thing and Boris is totally reliant on their "advice". We have to live with this virus and not cower from it.

You go ahead. Tell us how to get all tough with a virus.
You get it or you don't. Those are the only options. You get it, you live, you've a high chance of long Covid. Or you get it and you die. Nobody is 'cowering'. Wearing masks, which is the only, barely mandated announcement from the government, is hardly being followed. A few football games off. Not having massive spreader events at New Year? That's 'cowering'?
Also the medical definition of "mild" continues to mean "not hospitalized". Both so-called mild cases and long covid that can follow can be devastating and life changing. A just released study shows that the virus remains active in many organs of the body including many places in the brain for months after infection. About 230 days up to now. The "acute" phase of the infection is only the beginning. There's little 'mild' about it.
SAGE and Independent SAGE have no political affiliations. They advise. That's all. Why TF would you need to get them to 'admit' anything? Oh, are you one of those geniuses that are sick of experts? Why "advice"? You don't think they are giving advice? Are they those 'unelected scientists' we've heard about.
'Said' the fifth.

Today on Facebook
Boris Johnson when Foreign Secretary, frequented a mansion in the Italian Alps owned by a Russian oligarch. In said mansion, " hostesses " were on hand to see to elite people's needs. Boris Johnson was deemed a security risk by MI5 and was barred from security briefings. He was asked by Theresa May whether he attended this mansion, he lied. MI5 produced evidence which led to his sacking from government.

If that were true we would have been locked down for the last month, Bojo is ignoring their advice.

Have you ever read Carol James Marshall's "Garden"? It sounds like you have. This is a horror story about a woman who has become incredibly rich and runs a whole town. She became rich because she did not like cooking meals so she developed a pill for people so they did not need meals. She promoted and encouraged all the people to take this pill so that they would save money by not having to buy food and they would save themselves a lot of work too. The people were enamoured by this fantastic saint of a woman. She ran the town by having her followers acting as security people to ensure everyone was taking the pills, or to do exactly as she bid them to do. They were so taken in by this most wonderful pill, they continued taking them, ignoring the fact that they were becoming hideously disfigured and disabled - but they continued to obey this woman blindly. That was written some years ago - but it does seem familiar, somehow.
If you are willing to give making a pact with the Devil - you have to pay your dues.(Thalidomide, Arthritus, etc.,)

The Scientists have always been right, 'The Science' is only ever part of the picture.

With Johnson all sounds par for the course, he's always been and still is a security risk

I assume you include yourself in the ranks of pseudo scientists, in which case you're correct, you've never been right at any stage through this pandemic.

That's what grown-ups call a "story"
Oh and shall we add
Measles
Mumps
Rubella
Smallpox
TB
Polio
You see just because somebody COULD do something, doesn't mean they DID.
BTW if you wanted to drug the entire nation, there is a far simpler , cheaper and vastly more effective way than vaccination. It's the water supply.
Go and play.

One of the best aspects when Johnson does finally go, would be the collateral damage for Rees-Mogg, the contemptible.
What a beautifully expressed description of his Newsnight disgrace
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/...qj3DnGmcaujTDA
Right now Johnson is like dog poo on the pavement. Nobody wants the job of clearing it up.
