Would you include Southport Crematorium in this ?
I would find it very difficult to visit my Mums resting place without a car and parking on Southport Road would be difficult if not impossible.

I’m mainly talking about Duke Street cemetery and others like that.

I can see why some people don’t want cars in a cemetery, it all comes down to laziness to be honest.

Cemetery's do not always have parking for enough visitor's for a funeral outside the gates.
The bereaved need consideration.
What is wrong with the 5 mile per hour rule?

I think it’s VERY disrespectful to drive your car in the cemetery unless you are disabled, there are plenty of parking spaces by the roadside at the bottom of Duke st and around there. At the Crematorium I think it’s different as there is a long-sad walk from the main road and although parking is difficult in there ( especially if there is a service going on ) you can usually find a spot along the road in, with all that land there they should really provide a bit more parking.
For some people ( like myself ) it would have never occurred to them to go driving in the cemetery .

I think if you can walk, you should if you can't then a respectful speed of 5mph to enable someone to pay their respects isn't so much of a big deal

And you shouldn’t be allowed to ride bicycles in there either , especially if you are dead

Yea, dead right.....Shouldn't visit after dark either, lest one encounters ghostly headless riders in phantom form. Whose ghastly chilling apparitions manifest themselves astride spooky spectral mopeds, silently syphoning ectoplasmic fuel from below!
