And here's our dear leader in OCTOBER displaying his economic acumen.
Don't worry about inflation.
Growth will take care of it.
Inflation now 9% and growth in negative.
Genius

Bless my soul, Boris climbs out of the partying civil servants with no further fines.
I wonder if he will get some apologies?
Sir Pious, might, just might, lead the way,
he after all keeps telling us he is a man of honour.
I suppose the narrative will now try and be swayed to blame him for the civil servants partying in the Downing Street offices as people can't bring themselves to be fair to him.

To be fair to Johnson, in October 2021 he may well have been correct. If demand for products is increasing at a higher rate than supply, an increase in inflation is inevitable. If I'm not mistaken, this was not the case last October, and the growth trend was expected to continue into 2022. If the trend had continued, inflation wouldn't have been a problem...but demand ended up outstripping supply. And there's not a country in the world who anticipated the event that caused it.
The position that we ALL find ourselves in today couldn't possibly have been forecast. Did you anticipate that Russia would invade Ukraine? In this situation, the standard domestic fiscal tools available to curb demand, thus inflation, are practically useless. It's going to be a long painful period for us all. We can't blame our leaders for something that was beyond their control.

Oh dear local.
You have never understood what this was about have you?
Whether or not he was at them all , police have issued fines to 126 people relating to multiple events in Downing Street .
He was asked about them in the House weeks later and denied there had been such events.
Subsequently he has delivered more lies to get out of the situation.
I have said before that if he had been honest in the House originally, including about the event for which he WAS fined, he would have been given a hard time but it would have passed.
Unfortunately for him, being honest is way down his list of optional behaviours.

Wrong 126 fines not 126 people fined.

From 5 events of 18 being investigated.
Has somebody been leaned on to drop it all?

Yet again you have missed the point but choose to do it on here.
The Prime Minister was asked repeatedly about the events and he repeated what he had been told by his civil servants.
When he found out he had not been given the correct answers,
What did he do ?

Rishi only got a fine when Boris did as he turned up early for a meeting walked into a surprise celebration party for Boris.
That is the PM who nearly did not live to see his next birthday after catching Covid.

Absolutely!
The Met says the fines were issued to 83 individuals, with 28 people receiving between two and five fines.
Of the 126 fines, 53 fines were issued to men and 73 to women.

More women than men.
Oddly there are more women than men in the CS.
In measuring men and women in seniority posts men of course outnumber the women.

We are now told that Bozo had a meeting with Sue Gray a month ago to discuss 'the handling of the report'.
I await the New Years Honours list.

The ONS has asked Johnson to correct his statements repeatedly as he only includes people in employment, not self-employment. The regular figures include both. When you add self-employment it changes remarkably as many traders have packed up.
