New roundabout regulation you have to give way to cyclists on a roundabout who can travel right around the roundabout on the inside lane so long as they signal

Don’t you mean the outside lane

Cyclists, horse riders and horse drawn vehicles may stay in the left-hand lane when they intend to continue across or around the roundabout and should signal right to show you they are not leaving the roundabout.

They will be crossing exits all the way around, they will kill us all ha ha .

    Sour Grapes!

Par for the course - a typical case of sour grapes from the motoring fraternity, who want 'their' tarmac back duh!

Let's look at a few of these apparent 'crashes':

    1) Lady comes off bike due poor surface...Imagine what might have befallen her, had it still been a live traffic lane. She may well have ended up beneath a car/truck/bus!

    2) Toddler and bike collide, with no mention of any harm done. Again, imagine how that kid would have fared in the same spot, when it previously contained fast-moving motor traffic.

    3) Drunken motorist does a spell at the wheel and fails. I'd put the blame entirely on his stupid anti-social decision to drive drunk.

    4) Hit and run (don't suppose he/she was also p****d-up by any chance?) collision with a central refuge. Strongly suggests a visit to Specsavers (and perhaps Alcoholics Anonymous)!

No mention that the cyclist who hit the toddler might also have been drunk, but in your defence you didn’t accuse the toddler of being drunk either.

That's the thing with bikes, they require a good sense of balance to ride.....I doubt a drunk could even mount one, without falling straight off - let alone ride any distance!

Of course, cyclists are perfect aren’t they, silly me for thinking otherwise.

Exactly that yea , I copied this from the new rules, he can say what he wants and the other nob can film it with his hat but accidents will be caused by this and nobody should be letting a child ride around a roundabout anyway especially now like this. Who ever is right or wrong won’t matter in the spinal unit or the morgue so watch this news space as cyclists try these new tricks.

There's quite a lot to consider, when it comes to roundabouts....For example, roundabouts are fine until traffic levels get too high. When that happens, they should be replaced with a lights-junction. An example of that is Windle Island - now a lights-junction.

Bikes ideally require a separate path around a roundabout, to keep riders safely separated from the motor traffic. Unfortunately, UK road designers may well not be cyclists, which is probably why they invariably overlook bikes when designing new roundabouts....These guys could learn a lot from the Dutch! .

I'm sure some do, particularly parents when they have younger kids with them.......Myself, I keep my speed up and 'take the lane', which prevents cars behind me squeezing past. Which also keeps me several feet away from a roundabouts side-entrances, where cars are always wanting to lurch forwards.
