Family Courts
This topic may not interest many posters as they are not affected with, or have anything to do with Family Courts. But there are a huge number of complaints about these.
They are often the last resort when a couple with children divorce or break up. There are difficulties in deciding the best outcome for the children's welfare. These hearings result in an outcome that may affect the whole of a child's life. Who should have legal custody of the children? Who is likely to give the children the best future prospects, etc.,
It is not always clear. Very often one parent will be biter over the breakup and will use the children as a weapon against the other parent or a parent may move many miles away with the children knowing that their ex will not have access to the children, etc.,
Family Courts are also used to make a decision on who gets what of a joint owned property, savings etc.,
But - Family Courts are held in secret. Generally, newspaper reporters are not allowed to attend. The reason given is that there are very personal details revealed during such hearigns, or it may be that a child's identity is compromised.
I disagree! A Court hearing held in secret is not accountable to anyone and if a judge makes a wrong decision it cannot be challenged - yet such decisions can affect so many over many, many years. The children do not have to be seen in court - they can be asked questions via anonymous video links - personal details are often released in many hearings which are public, so that is not a real excuse.
Family Court Hearings should be made public so that decisons made are accountable by the public - do you agree?

No, I completely disagree.
Firstly, let me correct you. Decisions made in the family court can be appealed.
All magistrates and Judges in the family courts are specially trained in dealing with difficult decisions on matters regarding families and children.
Decisions made in family courts are not in the public interest. They are only relevant to the parties involved. If nosey Mrs Parker from number 27 wants to know the ins and outs of a neighbours divorce, it’s tough luck.
Youth courts and Family courts must be held in private, primarily to protect any children involved.
Please could you provide an example of a family court matter that would be considered to be in the public interest?

What do you think would happen if the other party broke the order?, did you have a penal ( he he penal ) attachment to the final order and what do you make of the whole process and how many kids were involved and what were there ages or were you the kid being fought over ?. .

Experience at a professional level rather than a personal one.

You seem bitter Mick. Bad experience?
No wonder really. What sane mother would want a xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic old **** like you within a thousand miles of their precious offspring?
Blimey, I bet it was a battle!
