I mentioned a newspaper, following on from your mention of one. I think people are more frustrated, than bored, with the length of time things are taking. I'd like to know how many parties took place inside Number 10, with its 100 rooms. I'd also like to know if there's something that Keir should be held account for, and if so, what he's got to say for himself.

The Heil has led with Starmer for over a week, that's why I mentioned it. As far as I know, other papers, of varying hues, haven't made it front page news day after day after day.

Not sure how many rooms Number 10 has is relevant. It's the people in them that are getting fines. As we should find out now that apparently the Gray report can be released.

Agree with you on Starmer. As I've said all along, if he's broken the law, he should also get a FPN.

Well, on this forum, the acceptability of the Mail has varied over time! Sure, the Mail has been leading with Starmer. Probably, the Express has been doing the same. I'd expect the Guardian and the Indy have been and will be more likely to lead with Johnson and Partygate.

Regards Number 10, with it having 100 rooms, I question if the true number of parties held there will ever be established? If for example there were multiple groups of people partying there across a couple of dozen rooms, does that count as one overall party or as multiple parties? And if there were a slew of parties happening in the complex, who could definitively establish how many took place? Whatever is thought of as the number of parties held could be an underestimate.

Suppose now Keir Starmer were to announce his resignation and a Labour leadership contest triggered; who would be more troubled, or even inconvenienced?

• the PM's position would become even more untenable
• Starmers' staid, lawyerly PMQ cross-examinations have exhausted their usefulness
• to whatever extent local elections are barometers, the next parliament could be severely hung such that neither the Conservatives nor the Labour party are remotely close to a 'working majority '
• both Conservatives and Labour parties would likely reset their respective offerings

Agreed. If Starmer has to go for breaking the law in a single incident, then Bunter will have to go for breaking his own laws over and over and over. I don't know if Starmer denied breaking the laws while speaking to Parliament, but Bunter did. Again, over and over. That is completely undeniable, on video, in Hansard.

So we have a situation where an (allegedly) dishonest LotO has to resign. IF he's found guilty. And an undeniably dishonest PM has to resign. He IS guilty.

Good. Starmer is no huge loss, the public haven't really warmed to him. Bunter is a cancer in our democratic process. Win / win.

The only question that remains is who will replace them.
