As usual, whoever worded this press release thinks everyone nowadays is utterly dependent on motorised assistance to get their a$$es from A to B.....That may indeed hold good, for many an atrophied couch potato. However, there are still those amongst us who have retained the ability to propel themselves about, e.g. by walking and/or riding a bike. For that reason, I do wish these announcements would indicate whether passage by non-motorised means will be allowed through - duh!

Your brain still in Stop mode then?

For someone who gives the impression he knows everything, you really do spoil the image.

How do you think residents, delivery drivers etc reach properties in the area?

It's the roads that are closed not the pavements.
So pedestrians will be able to walk along the pavements and cyclists will also be able to walk along the pavements whilst pushing their bikes. If you want to ride, find another route.

I often find these 'closed' roads are actually cycleable, except for one very short part. E.g. when a big hole is dug, the rest of a road can just fine (and also traffic-free, lol) except for maybe a ten-meter length. ;-)

What a vile, nasty individual you continue to be. Incidentally, if the road is closed to traffic, that includes cyclists, UNLESS, they PUSH them along the pavement.

They are not closed, merely not available temporarily at times for through traffic.

You really must get your mind in gear over such simple things and realise that there's got to be access for residents, deliveries, emergency vehicles etc.

Measurements are in metres by the way - meters are for gas and electricity readings etc.

In the same way that the same stretches are driveable, but the roads are closed so you must not ride or drive down them, so don't. It's not had to understand that the closure applies to you.

But we all know that rules only apply to him as, and when he sees fit. His favourite is that cyclists can ride through red lights to “get ahead of other traffic”.

    Disagree entirely.....

For 'closed road', I read: incredible opportunity to enjoy riding in safety on a road totally devoid of the menace, noise and stink of motor-traffic!

If you think riding on what is a construction site is safe you may well come a cropper. Just because there isn't a big hole in the ground doesn't mean there might not be other hazards such as unveven surfaces, equipment or moving plant. That's why they close the road.

Yet another example of your total and complete disregard for the laws of the land.
What a role model you are to your fellow cyclists.

Try telling that to the Wally percentage of motorists, who always drive past the 'ROAD AHEAD CLOSED' notices, thinking the road's not really closed....Five minutes later, sure enough the same Wally/s will be seen coming back red-faced in the opposite direction - having discovered they can't get through, lol.

But you've been saying the same behaviour from yourself on a bike is acceptable.

Having driven down Park Crescent earlier today I can assure you that you are more than welcome to tackle some of the giant potholes on view and even more dangerous because the contractors' vehicles are reducing the road width in preparation for the work.

Your hatred and vindictiveness towards those who use or travel in motor vehicles continues unabated - no wonder you are so detested on this forum nor gain any support as a result.
