Yes, and we can't grow haricot beans here anyway.
The meme of 'EU breakfast vs UK breakfast' with just beans on toast on the British side was a mile out. We import beans. It would just be toast.
Thankfully we don't rely on Ukraine for our wheat. And we can make a nice bit of butter.

A bean is a bean is a bean.
The difference between the various baked beans brands is, of course, the taste of the tomato sauce, often a well kept secret recipe.

True. That's why I prefer Branston beans to Heinz. Heinz is way too sweet.
And they are cheaper. Win / win

I get supermarket own brand, on a plate with other food stuffs you'd not know the difference and considerably cheaper.
When serving use a holey spoon to drain a much bean juice off as possible, hate bean juice.

Have to agree about the juice, nothing worse than a plate swimming with it!
N.B. I sometimes wonder whether the mega-rich still eat things like tinned beans/spaghetti etc, or would they consider it a 'poor mans' food?

Wouldn't surprise me, if along with the Bollinger and caviar, the odd billionaire keeps a couple of cases of baked beans stashed away on his/her superyacht!
