I wish he would have stayed in Germany, his family have lost a very brave husband, father and son. Now apparently his body has been lost and rumours are circulating he died 24 hours before the news was released. Meanwhile Putin is laughing at the west, the sooner someone puts a bullet in that lunatics brain the better.

Tbh, I don't know why they bother to have elections in Russia anymore, since there will only ever be the same winner!

Yep, a friend of mine in St Petersburg keeps telling me their electoral voting system is a lot more efficient than ours as they count the votes BEFORE the election.

Similar to Hamas
They took control of Gaza after it won elections there in 2006. Since then, no elections have been held.
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

Why do you think it is any different in the UK? There is corruption in the UK too.
Navalny did not begin his anti-corruption activities until after he had attended Yale in the USA. His daughter is currently a student at one of the more expensive universities in the USA. How is that being funded?
Navalny was born in Russia, educated as a lawyer and grew up with with the knowledge of communism. He would have been completely familiar with the Russian establishment and laws. He became a member of various different political societies while in Russia but did not win any elections in either politics or within those establishments.
In April 2017, Navalny was attacked outside his office in Russia - his face was sprayed with a chemically enhanced green paint and it was thought he would lose his sight in one eye. But he did not. Navalny accused the Kremlin for the attack. The OPCW, formed in 1993 in USA partially supported this accusation. In July 2019, he suffered another attack on his eyes an his skin. In 2020, Navalny supported the huge protest in Belarus and his friend and ally let it be known that Navalny was active in the protest. In August 2020. Navalny was travelling from the Tonsk region of Russia to Moscow when he became very ill. He was transferred onto an emergency flight to Omsk where to save his life he was placed in a coma. It is not clear how Germany became involved nor how they even were made aware of Navalny's condition. While the German Doctor's were still carrying out tests on Navalny Merkel announced that the Doctor's had said there was no doubt that he had been poisoned with Novichok. When prompted about the fact that the Russians had not been informed - Merkel said "No Comment"
The Germans under the direction of Merkel offered Navalny exile - but even after everything that had been reported of the previous attacks - curiously he CHOSE to return to Moscow with his wife. Navalny's wife Yulia did not support her husband's quest and had never spoken out in public. She was with him in Germany, but refused to say anything about his condition publicly.
It was only last year when to everyone's surprise, she made a public statement. Though there are conflicting views on this depending on whether you read the American version or an Encyclopedia version.
The Russian physician, Leonid Roshal said that no poisonous substance had been found in Navalnys samples in Russia. He suggested teaming up with the German Doctors in order to establish what had happened. But Yulia refused point blank and accused him as being the voice of the state.
In his interview Navalny stated that as soon as he felt ill, he thought it was a poisoning and that he was going to die. He said he did not feel any pain just ill. Yet in the Scripol poisoning in the UK it is
claimed he was in agony. Yet it was claimed to be the same poison.
From Yaroslavl in Russia, the cousin of the two Russians poisoned with a nerve agent said that she refused to come to the UK because she was scared for her cousins because she considered the British Authorities untrustworthy and she cast doubt on the British version of events.
I have watched the video footage of interviews with both Navalny and his wife. They both use every opportunity of blaming Putin at every opportunity. They both appeared to enjoy the attention they were being given and both gave very lengthy speeches.

His daughter applied to many Universities and got accepted at Stanford for free I imagine her back story helped no end.
The Russian "press release" is full of holes and not worth a response.

I think we recognise a brave man who stood up to a vicious dictator.
I'm amazed he lived as long as he did.

What one wonders was Navalny "allergic" to ?
Gravity is quite a favourite with Putins pals to administer to those "off message.
Then a few Novichok intolerants have struggled with life.
When you see what happens to opponents of his regime you see why the public apparently supports his Ukraine Invasion and there isn't a thriving opposition.
To those who think we are in any way not a free country...............

Ah! A free country but a little thought for a brave man currently being detained in one of His Majesty's finest residences for reasons that have not been made clear and for a period of unknown time. The Australian government has just passed a humanitarian vote to have the man returned to his own country. How are we any different to Russia?

Assange I presume, he fights extradition.
His crimes clear, releasing information of benefit to our enemies.
I think he gets his very public hearing next week.
Putins opponents would love to have such a process.

A brave man against an evil deranged man.
Perhaps what bothers me has been helped by replies to this thread.
The dichotomy!
I do not believe in the death penalty yet the longer an evil man is free to kill more lives are lots.
Like other similar men in history he does not take the lives of others with his own hands.
