They've waited some 20 years to open a new superstore in Southport - and with an impressive £10 millions investment it looks like it was well worth it judging by the numbers who visited its new store today.
QLocal's busy Ormskirk reporter Roger Blaxall struggled to find a parking place - and couldn't help noticing an important 'green' aspect of the store that's been future proofed boast thanks excellent provision for EV drivers; there's no traditional fuel on offer but plenty of superfast charging instead.
A number of Tesco staff cast envious eyes over the new store with just two glitches of note; a leak in the Costa coffee area and lack of mirrors for folk wishing to try on clothes, both of which are being addressed urgently according to a company spokesman.

Makes perfect sense....Why shell out good money on petrol-pumps and tank infra, when demand for fossil-fuels will be shrinking?

The photo appears to show a Landrover parked on an EV parking space.

Why refer to yourself in third person when your name is at the top of the copy as writer?
And 'busy'? Relevance?
Wouldn't 'I struggled to find...' or 'I couldn't help noticing...' make more sense than 'Roger Blaxall couldn't help noticing'? Almost as though the writer considers himself more important than the piece.
Quite odd.

Wife went said there was a lack of small trolleys, people trying to get in and those getting out having to cross paths, fridges all got doors on and aisles not wide enough, will not be returning.

Called in last night, I guess people's impressions are personal to them. Aisles plenty wide enough in my opinion, you go to Tesco or Asda and you cross paths with people coming in and out, what does it matter? Fridges have doors, so does the one in your kitchen what does it matter? Layout seems a little odd to me but like anything new you get used to it.

When they use the fridges with swing doors they need wider aisles.

Everybody an expert in supermarket designs. Wonderful. These people are in successful
businesses for a reason because they employ people who know what they are doing. .
It's not like the local council. They are business people who get results or lose
their jobs. They take pride in their achievements.

As I said subjective. I went earlier and aisles are plenty wide enough in my opinion. I was able to open the fridge doors without causing any holdups to people passing even if you had people on either side opening doors at the same time.
