No, Labour would not have done. Rochdale is 30% Muslim and Galloway is married to a Muslim. Labour pulled their Muslim candidate because he was supporting Israel on behalf of Labour - he would not have won.

Just for clarity Galloway is on his fourth marriage.
Wiki quote
"Marriages and children
Galloway has been married four times and has six children.
In 1979, he married Elaine Fyffe, with whom he has a daughter, Lucy (born 1982).The couple separated in 1987 and divorced in 1999.
In 1994, Galloway married Amineh Abu-Zayyad, a biologist of Palestinian origin, in a non-legally binding Islamic ceremony; a legally binding civil ceremony followed in March 2000.
Abu-Zayyad was granted a divorce in February 2009, after an estrangement of several years, on the grounds of "unreasonable behaviour"; her petition was not contested.
Galloway married Rima Husseini, his former researcher, in a non-legally binding Islamic ceremony in 2005. Galloway had two sons, Zein (born 2007) and Faris (born 2011), with Husseini, who is from Lebanon.
On 31 March 2012, he married his fourth wife, Dutch-Indonesian anthropologist Putri Gayatri Pertiwi, then 27, in Amsterdam. The initial event was followed by a traditional Javanese wedding ceremony in Sumatra and a civil marriage at the House of Commons in September 2012.
Pertiwi worked as a consultant for a Dutch research firm and as a co-presenter of Galloway's TV show Sputnik.
The couple have three children: a son, Toren Mustaqim, born on 15 July 2014;a daughter, Orlá Dhien, born in 2017;and another daughter, Òban Amaria, born in August 2020."

Takes all sorts I suppose.
Apparently, there is a dearth of people to swear him in the commons as per tradition,
should be Starmer the liar without his party picking Ali despite his history he wouldn't be there.
You can bet our bottom dollar there will be a lot of affected outrage in the commons.

Is Galloway networking with wives?
First a Scottish lady for his Scottish MP Labour electorate then a Palestinian
for the cause.
A Lebanese wife for the Greater cause.
Finally a Dutch (anthropologist) for the identifying with a cat buissness.

Labour pulled their candidate, Azhar Ali, because he was recorded saying Israel deliberately relaxed security after warnings of an imminent threat. He most definitely doesn't support Israel.
Galloway is an antisemitic rabble rouser. He never gets re-elected because as a politician he's a self serving prick who does nothing for the constituency. He's very good at campaigning in Muslim areas. But if it hadn't been for the actions of 7/10, he probably wouldn't have won.
But as I said, all he had to do was run around shouting 'Gaza!' and he was assured of victory. He doesn't want to do the actual work of representing the people of Rochdale. And I can almost guarantee that after grandstanding in the Commons a few times, he won't be elected there again.

His time is ripe. Any candidates, in high immigration areas, at the next General Election who tag onto his party will probably easily take the seat. It is the direction "our" country is moving. We have let it go too far to oppose it now.

Rochdale was a 'high immigration ' area many years ago and if you counted up I think you would find that many of the so called immigrants were actually born here.

Yes, you just can't stop repeating that disgusting, victim-blaming comment. You don't care how scummy the emphasis of that comment that is - you just keep on repeating it.

Oh, this is a new 'special insider knowledge claim'. Now, your partner is or was a police officer whose professional experience is that the blame for the lack of action should 'rightfully' be placed on the shoulders of child sexual violence victims.
The fact and level of your delusional gall in positioning yourself as an authority on matters of child protection is staggering. You should really keep that coping mechanism to yourself.

Just seen a film of George Galloway sworn into Parliament.
As he chose to do this on a Bible I would say he is still Christian.

It did make me cringe too.
Not sure I would report a rape if the perpetrator threatened to kill my family burn our house down.

Have you been reading that filthy rag again s?
'Rima is still legally his wife according to Muslim law, which British law does not accept. He has committed bigamy,' Haschem Husseini told The Sun."

Yes, I was having this same discussion just the other day after he was voted in. If other regions in the UK follow this lead then there could, with luck, be a complete change around in the country. Or at the very least - some interesting debates in Parliament.
