Gaza, Hamas etc

Pkease can someone explain in very easy terms what is going on and who us to blame. I am so very confused by it all. ThanksAttachment 231893

Hamas are terrorists. They committed horrendous atrocities October 7 and after. Israel attacked Gaza with overwhelming force. 30,000 Palestinian fatalities and counting. mass starvation; infrastructure destroyed; children traumatised for life probably.

And not forgetting… Israel will Prevail. …but at what cost to its standing in the international community?

Any "victory" for Israel will be pyrrhic.

I imagine they have doubled or trebled Hamas's support.

Local, your insight into any victory for Israel, will be pyrrhic, is exactly what many Israelis are feeling.


All I can say,in my own personal opinion, is that the eradication of Hamas, will unfortunately be a temporary solution to the situation. There could eventually be a peaceful agreement, as is with Egypt ..but it would have to take a very strong leader on both sides, who can eventually get that agreement under way.



I honestly don’t believe there is a snowballs chance in hell of finding those leaders. Anwar Sadat was such a leader .. poor guy paid with his life after signing that agreement.assassination.Great loss to that region.

The promoting of Hamas is evident by all the rallies and demonstrations which we are witnessing daily.
Things are not always as they seem.

Interesting but entirely irrelevant point: I was chatting to my B-I-L yesterday, as atheist as they come (we have weird conversations that go off on many tangents). He read that in 'Revelations' it says Armageddon will happen when Israel stands alone. If there comes a point where Israel has no support from the west, that's when the 'end of the world' will come.

He believes Biblical fairy stories as much as I do, but it reminded me when I read your post. Though I don't see Israel without the support of the west at any time soon.

And of course the 'end of the world' could mean the world they knew back in Biblical times. Could well mean war in the Middle East, or a few villages in the area they saw as 'the world'.

That's the thing with Scriptures from whatever religion, they are open to an awful lot of interpretation thousands of years on.
