I think I will start a new pastime called sport running and be a sport runner. Roadside running tracks or pavements mean nothing to us sports runners enthusiasts they are only good for average joggers. We will be a seperate breed of runners that wear silly hats and run down the centre of busy roads because as we are the ABSOLUTE hierarchy of road users we simply can on the pretence of it being a sport when in reality we are just a bunch of old fools out to annoy real road users . (like cyclists do ) .
Everyone must wait for us so we can purposely hold up other road users running 2 abreast taking up all the road while sneering to ourselves and pretending we matter when all the time we are poor fools that have lost in life that can’t even afford bicycles like Joe sells on here for £25 for 7/8. We definately don’t have to stop at traffic lights or use zebra crossings and can dart across roads without looking as long as the police don’t catch us . so the sooner we get run over the better so that we can blame someone else .

When you can maintain speeds of above 18mph on foot, be my guest, lol!
Let's not forget, it's the Govt's unwillingness to fund decent bike infra, that's behind this one...
If UK bike-lanes/paths were designed to 'CROW' standards, the use of bike infra could be made mandatory. Instead, our bike infra is often unsafe to use at higher speeds, hence faster riders being told not to use it.

As it happens, I was deliberately held up yesterday at a junction, when on foot. Instead of being able to cross straight away, at least two motorists failed to give way to me. Leaving me standing there at the kerb-edge like a fool and wasting my precious time.

You don’t have to go over 18 mph to get in the way of cars or not use a bike lane. Cyclists don’t use them and ride on the road right next to well maintained ones all the time.
Why didn’t you jump in front of the cars that didn’t stop for you stood there at the curb sides after all you ARE the hierarchy and the new Highway Code says you can. or do they only have to give way if you are actually actively crossing or is there an imaginary zebra crossing at every curb that only pedestrians and cyclists that shouldn’t use them can see. Or does nobody care.
Anyway because it’s you that makes stuff up to suit your agenda we need a picture/video or it never happened .

Well that's something, I thought they all rode on the pavement!

For the same reason that I don't drive blithely in front of other cars, when I have theoretical right of way. As Ashley Neil is always saying: 'priority isn't taken, it's given'.

Cyclists ride on the pavement OR on the road especially if there’s a cycle lane there and they can have fun holding up cars, sometimes I think that’s all they do it for .
It’s a shame cyclists don’t say that about priority when they are riding 2 abreast holding up traffic on narrow lanes and roads .. ( where as slow moving they should be giving way ) or riding on the pavement pretending to be frightened of the road.

Oh dear! What a biased opinion you have of cyclists. You are positively evangelical in a perverse kind of way. It gives the impression that you would like to make cycling a criminal offence, or at least a public nuisance.
To the vast majority of people, cyclists cause no problem. You can pick out individual instances of bad behaviour as you can with any road user. I think it's a bit of a game with you. It deserves a, "You cannot be serious!"
Happy motoring.

I think PNP has got 3 alias accounts active on this thread .
I car lol ( 350 posts in 22 yrs ) and silly me (130 posts in 20 yrs ) both anagrams and mostly used to support the PNP ( if you read the posts ) or that he can start a click bait thread with and know immediately it was fake.
Hey that’s just my opinion and probably has more and if you can’t see it after years then …

No PNP they ARE a public nuisance and a danger to themselves and others when they ride 2 abreast on the road when there is an expensive cycle track a meter away and it’s not a game it’s a safety issue.
It may be a game to a childish mind and not a biased opinion of a few, rather it’s the general consensus of most drivers AND passengers concerned wish the safety of these childish fools
Evangelical perverse is sniffing seats and not telling the truth that we all see everyday

Cyclists are quite entitled to ride side-by-side. Not only that, if they ride single-file then cars are inclined to squeeze past dangerously close at speed and not slow down to wait for a safe gap in oncoming traffic. Having said that, everyday people generally ride alone to the train/work/shops/appointments, etc.
