No it was you that said this
Don't forget, the challenge is door-to-door. Which includes the time taken to legally park and lock the bike or car being used.

It was from Norwood Ave lights on Roe Lane, to being being first to arrive at the front entrance of River Island, on Chapel St.....Btw, I'm still open to the challenge and will beat anyone in a car over that course. Point being, that a bike is often the quickest and most practical way, to go from A to B for short trips.

So I accepted your challenge and you have been moving the goalposts for days now even when I said I won’t use my blue badge and still legally park while beating you because of my MASSIVE ADVANTAGE OVER A CYCLIST AS A MOTORIST that you haven’t worked out yet and because you haven’t worked it out it’s obvious to you that you will lose. Even if losing is less embarrassing than being shown up as a fool that goes back on a bet. I would rather look a fool than dishonourable

Btw. Being male, just what exactly were you planning to buy from River Island anyway?
I was not challenged to buy anything just to appear at the door before you, I WAS going to use my badge that DID NOT GUARANTEE ME PARKING ON A BUSY SATURDAY but you said no because you said there was no disabled parking nearby years ago but there WAS parking and there was pay and display outside the office ( machine is still there on Google maps covered up BEFORE CYCLE LANES KILLED THE PARKING ) where disabled is now and a blue badge covers both free all day so I could have used my badge there even according to your ever changing rules squirming but even so I agreed not to park illegally AND NOT TO USE MY BLUE BADGE AT ALL , not to speed over 30 mph down Manchester rd 20 mph Houghton st and still beat you and I can do all that in 3.5 mins easily as I did 3 times tonight.
But now you are chickening out and that’s poor character bad show the style of a cad and a coward

You offered a NEW CHALLENGE that means walking all over town that you know I can’t do and I don’t want coloured paper from some arty farty shop and I don’t want to stand on the corner eating a pie counting non existing cycles on expensive lanes that should have stayed (and may yet return to) pay and display.
With my disability it’s been 5 yrs since I have walked through chapel st and only accepted your challenge because it was unbelievably easy badge or not.
But to invent another one dragging me all over town is a cheek designed well bent against me after I told you I can’t walk far, I would say you should be ashamed of yourself but it’s you so I won’t bother , cos I am not offended as just everyone knowing I could and would have easily won this reneged bet is enough for me .

I will save the secret surprise of the MASSIVE ADVANTAGE THAT ANY MOTORISTS HAVE GOT OVER CYCLISTS that makes it easier to get around many shops in town long before someone on a little bicycle for another day but I don’t think you will be issuing challenges that you can’t keep to. You started backing out when I introduced a £50 charity bet before you started angling the rules in your favour and that showed how confident you were ha ha not very confident at all

Although you embarrassed yourself more by your character chickening out you saved yourself £50 .

Unless you want to reinstate the bet .. ha ha I thought not

    When did you say that?

If true, then I don't mind giving it a go, since I'd stand a fair chance. I'll even promise not to exceed my usual speed of 12-ish mph.

Ok so are we still on for Saturday then from Roe lane to River island and I’ll park without using my blue badge using my MASSIVE ADVANTAGE AS A MOTORIST ..
and yea I did say it a few times if you want to read back through the posts.

What time should we meet at Roe lane lights then

I said going back on your challenge and changing it to a new one engineered for you to win where a disabled person had to walk all around the shops is bad form. But even so with my MASSIVE Advantage AS A MOTORIST I MAY TAKE YOU UP ON IT IN FUTRE WEEKS OR NEXT WEEK.

I promise not to do anything ANY NORMAL MOTORIST CANT DO and I will legally park.

The rules are simple / safety first…
Make it clear if you want to include the charity bet when you decide the time you want to start .
The first one outside River island legally, no speeding, no illegal parking or using a blue badge ( like you Could always do ) and no crying when you lose.
Hey you are doing the right thing it’s better for you to lose fair and square than to go back on a bet.
If you are happy with the original challenge and the above statement then tell me a time to meet you at Roe lane lights on Saturday and we will try to get an equal start.

Seems to me, that giving both routes a go on the same day is a better solution. We'll be in town-centre after finishing the first one anyway and I don't want to tie up two Saturdays, when they can be done on one. Having said that, earliest I'll be free looks like being the following Saturday, as this one is G National day.

I will accept one challenge at a time as your second challenge also involves starting at Roe lane and parking in town ( then getting to shops a disabled guy could not reach, and parking without using his disable badge to angle the bet towards you ) Saturday has many hours in it including the morning and it will only take me 5 mins tops to beat you or more if you dawdle.
The Grand National race won’t start until around 4 pm, after I win this race I could easily get there AND park in time… could you.

Are you trying to weedle out of this now? How long did it take you to think of this excuse that has nothing to do with it.

I don’t think you will be going to the races in aintree will you because if you are I can drop you off there after I win if you like and be back home within an hour or are you going on your bicycle .

Why are you crying off again and what will be your excuse next Saturday the 20th? will it be—
It's Pizza Delivery Driver Appreciation Day, National Look-Alike Day, National Record Store Day, National Cheddar Fries Day…
The truth is that you know going shopping or on holiday or to the beach in a car is much quicker/easier/dryer/popular/sensible and grown up than struggling on a bicycle .
It’s ok tho because we all do, why don’t you just admit the truth instead of crying off again and again.

Nah mate, Saturdays are always full days for me, as are Sundays....I only get weekends off and try to make the most of them. E.g. we may be riding the canal to Aintree this weekend, having a general nosey about on the bikes to see what's to be seen, lol.

Anyway, what's the sweat? Town's not going anywhere and the first challenge was made several years ago. So, a couple of weeks will make no difference to the outcome. But if you want them one at a time, I'll accept provided we do the current one first, cos I have a feeling you'll never show for it otherwise.

Btw, who said anything about Roe Lane for the current one? Read that post again - it starts outside the Halifax on London St (get there however you like), goes via Rymans Tulketh St, Watefields London St, ending outside Sainsbury's....A doddle on a bike, but a right pain in the proverbial for any car, lol!

He CAN do it? Then he can’t do it? Then can only do it on a Saturday ( a week away )? Then can’t do it cos of bull? Yhen can do it the week after then can’t?.
And all the while changing the rules and calling me chicken and unlikely to turn up when I say I can beat him easily and tolerate his mind changing and introducing other challenges that I also said I will beat him on AFTER I HAVE BEAT HIM ON HIS FIRST CHALLENGE
He knows I will turn up to do the first one first and stu could have parked outside the office even but now it’s a disabled bay I CANT SUDDENLY park there and it’s supposed to replicate the original challenge but only when it suits him, but I don’t mind this shenanigans as I HAVE A MASSIVE ADVANTAGE AS A MOTORIST.
Having said all that and given him EVERY ADVANTAGE more even than his original challenge to stu he still CHICKENS OUT .
I have been crystal clear at every turn that will accept these challenges in order and at no time have I chickened out unlike THE PNP that dodges in and out of the chalkenges and with every advantage ( apart from being on a bicycle )
The truth as we all know is however he challenged me.
I can go in my car and park like any other motorist can while shopping at the shop he named, sooner , faster easier than he can on a toy bicycle .

But even the original challenge is so easy including parking it’s laughable.
He can’t work out how I can possibly do this and that makes him frightened of losing and not very confident that’s why he is wasting my time and patience spinning it out.
He would rather look like a lose that goes back on his word than a loser that would actually lose.

Because he can’t keep to his word because his words about bicycles are stupid, ridiculous and crap.
It’s as simple as that / him.

It’s already been decided NORWOOD RD /ROE LANE lights
See post 45 ..he has had no objections to this but probably will have now you mention it ha ha
As he keeps changing the rules and I keep saying I don’t mind then any lights he wants because the named lights would be more difficult for me but I don’t mind ha ha

    But yea post 45 .

Roe Lane/Norwood Ave lights, as they were a convenient starting-point located close to Stu's place.
