A Scarisbrick driver will be feeling 'jacked off' after this notice appeared on his stricken vehicle yesterday afternoon...

This Disco's been on a jack for the last week or so; the owner has been given a chance to repair and remove it by West Lancs Borough Council with an officer dispatched to warn the owner of the threat hanging over it yesterday lunchtime.

There's always cars blocking the bike-path along there (both sides) and now it's become a car scrapyard - unbelievable!

Certainly shoudn't be there but there may well be a back story that undermines the abandoned summation.

The owner/driver might just need a bit of help.

Yes, there are dozens of owner/drivers along there who 'need a bit of help'...
To read the Highway Code rules on parking - duh!

Oh.... so you're going mad when a car is on the cycle path, but when I moan about cyclists not using the paths provided but using the road, you're quite happy to say it's personal choice, they don't have to use the paths.

What I would like to type would be barred from posting!

You're just a pathetic little man!

Our inhouse forum cretin PNP might just benefit from reading the Highway Code he so often misquotes from, as the vehicle is "jacked up" one can assume he hasn't parked but "Broken Down"

As I said he? might just need some assistance rather than ill-informed criticism from a liar, hypocrite and idiot.

This vehicle has had a jack under one corner or another for nearly a month. It's blocking the cycleway, so it needs to be moved.

That is the story in it's entirety. There is absolutely nothing else to say on the matter - which leads me to think the only reason it's been posted is to 'inspire' the site's clickbait generator to further increase revenue for the shareholders by posting his usual twaddle.

    We've covered all this before....

    1) Govt advise cyclists not to use bike infra, if they are likely to be going at 18mph or more.

    2) The bike infra on that road causes punctures. I used to get two on average per week riding down there, when I lived on the Moss. Even fitted solid tyres at one stage, to overcome the problem! Fyi, there are thousads of tiny glass shards mixed with gravel along the paths.

    3. Even so, I still use the bike infra when I occasionally go that way.Though it can mean popping out into the path of fast traffic to get past some of the inconsiderately parked cars - quite a risky business.

It’s got absolutely nothing to do with the cycle lane because if it had ALL the cars would have some kind of notice on them that are parked on it including the one in the picture, basically no one not even the police care about this or cycle lanes one way or the other.
However it is all to do with the disco not being taxed and even so the owner has 7 days to remove it .

I wouldn’t get too stressed with this because if its tax was lots out of date they would have just removed it but as it is it was just ONE day out of date and I reckon a little weasel rat passed this every day cycling into Southport waiting to report it. ( naming no names )
Turning every thread into a cycle issue IS just click bait as it happens far too often and instead of making the site more interesting it’s thinning out the users and killing it.

It is the same old shite that’s been covered a hundred times and you CAN park there, people DO park there, read the Highway Code all you like there are no yellow lines no unbroken white lines and no …. Body cares lines.

Ah but they do...Ask at that big car-sales showrooms and you'll find the Police paid them a visit. Making them shift their cars off the bike-path, because they were causing an obstruction..

The HC states that you 'should not' park on bike infra - clear as mud to you apparently!.

Well what an accolade, the forums number one hypocrite liar and lonely fantasist.

And without a shadow of doubt definitely the cyclists worst enemy brings out the old pot kettle black retort.

How amusing........... splutter from the gutter

Oddly enough I've just had this very conversation with one of our local traffic officers by a certain garage on Southport road, his reply was "as the cycle path is also shared to a pavement you are allowed to park there" he went on to say "where a road has a cycle lane with spaced white lines you are not permitted to park"

The normal reply from the Police is that it is a parking issue therefore it is the Local Authorities jurisdiction.
